Backstage news regarding John Cena’s segment with Austin Theory from 3/6/23 edition of WWE RAW

As previously noted, John Cena challenging Austin Theory for the United States title has now officially been confirmed for WWE Wrestlemania 39.

In regards to their segment from the March 6th 2023 edition of WWE RAW, Fightful.com noted how “those that we spoke to within WWE were happy with how WWE Raw unfolded with John Cena adding some familiar eyes to the show.” While not confirmed, it’s believed that Cena had creative freedom as there was no producer listed for the segment on internal sheets.

Cena was seen getting emotional during his entrance to the ring. Via Twitter, Cena wrote how it was “the first time I entered the arena and had the thought that it might be the last time. I’ll never be able to put into words how much I love the #WWEUniverse.”
