Results of Apollo Crews vs. Carmelo Hayes at WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2023

Apollo Crews vs. Carmelo Hayes in a two out of three falls match took place during the WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2023 PLE. Here were the highlights…

* Trick Williams did a special induction for Carmelo and several of his accomplishments were shown on the screens with “HIM” in the center.

* The two had a feeling out process in the early moments. Hayes slapped Crews but was slapped back. Hayes tried to come off the top rope but was caught with a dropkick. The two ended up outside of the ring and Trick got in Crews’ face but the distraction didn’t work. Crews hit a moonsault off the apron onto Hayes on the outside.

* Back in the ring, Hayes slowed the pace down and worked over Crews on the mat. Crews came back with rolling German suplexes and a back body drop. Crews suplexed Hayes back into the ring from the apron but Hayes kicked out. Hayes scored the first fall when Crews tapped to the crossface.

* During the second fall, Hayes tried to get the count-out victory. Crews started to build up momentum but then Williams exposed the turnbuckle. However, the plan backfired and Hayes went into the turnbuckle. Dabba-Kato showed up to even the odds. Crews high fived Dabba-Kato but then Hayes took advantage and was able to hit the scissors kick off the top to score the second straight fall.

* After the match, Dabba-Kato hugged Crews but then turned against him.
