Update on Mark Briscoe and if he will be allowed to appear on AEW television
Last Tuesday, it was announced by AEW/ROH President Tony Khan that Jay Briscoe passed away. In a Facebook video, family friend Josh Wharton provided an update on Jay’s brother Mark…
“The one thing that stuck out to me, he said, ‘I can’t imagine going through this not being a believer.’ He, and you guys reading the Bible, realize that our time here on Earth is a small glimpse in our existence. [Mark] realizes that we’re going to see him again and he’s hoping to use this as a tool to motivate people to get into heaven with us, use Jamin’s untimely death as a witness almost to get people to come to heaven with him.”
In regards to Mark’s future in wrestling, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com initially stated that Warner Brothers Discovery would not be allowing Mark to appear on AEW television. However, AEW President Tony Khan announced that Mark will wrestle against Jay Lethal this coming Wednesday on Dynamite. Shortly after Khan’s announcement, Meltzer tweeted “AEW just confirmed WBD changed its policy on Mark Briscoe and he’s allowed to appear going forward. AEW is also cleared to to honor Jay on the show tomorrow night.”
