AEW news items regarding MJF’s pay raise and company debuts in North California/United Kingdom
Here are a few AEW news items for Friday, September 23rd via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer…
* As previously noted, MJF appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and stated that he received “a stupid bump in pay” without having to sign an AEW contract extension. In regards to MJF’s pay raise, Meltzer wrote that “based on things we heard it’s was more than $1 million per year.”
* There has been talk of AEW debuting in Northern California for the 2023 Revolution PPV. Meltzer noted that San Francisco’s Chase Center and Cow Palace venues have been discussed.
* At the moment, the belief is that Craven Cottage (the home of Fulham) is the most likely venue for AEW’s United Kingdom debut. The official capacity for the grounds is listed as 22,384. According to Meltzer, the summer of 2023 is the earliest timeframe for AEW to debut in the region.
