Update on Adam Cole’s status with AEW heading into the Forbidden Door PPV

It was previously reported that Adam Cole is dealing with an injury and AEW is letting Cole “rest up” until the Forbidden Door PPV event.

According to Fightful.com, Cole has been “banged up for quite a while” but worked through the pain. Cole has reportedly been dealing with a labrum injury since his feud with Adam Page. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that Cole was injured during his match against Samoa Joe at the Double or Nothing PPV.

According to Meltzer, it appears that there will be a triple threat match for the IWGP Title at the Forbidden Door PPV with either Kazuchika Okada or Jay White defending the title against both Page and Cole. During the June 8th 2022 edition of Dynamite, Cole cut a promo about wanting the IWGP Title match at Forbidden Door.
