Results of Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey at WWE Wrestlemania Backlash 2022

Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey took place at WWE Wrestlemania 38 Sunday. Here are the highlights…

* This was an “I Quit” match for the Smackdown women’s title.

* Rousey took Charlotte down with a knee in the early moments but then Charlotte dropped Rousey with a clothesline. Charlotte hit Rousey with a German suplex. Rousey recovered and went for the armbar but Charlotte rolled to the outside of the ring.

* The two fought on the outside of the ring. Charlotte hit a big boot and Rousey was asked by the referee if she wanted to quit. Charlotte pulled a kendo stick from under the ring but Rousey apprehended it. Charlotte ran backstage and grabbed two more kendo sticks. Rousey got the sticks and used them on Charlotte. Charlotte said “hell no” when asked if she was going to quit.

* The fight went into the crowd and then went back to ringside as fans started a “we want tables” chant. Charlotte powerbombed Rousey into the barricade and then started slapping Rousey around. Rousey got fired up but Charlotte raked the eyes and sent Rousey into the ring post.

* Rousey applied the armbar on the apron but Charlotte did not quit. Back in the ring, Charlotte hit Natural Selection on a chair but Rousey did not quit. Charlotte applied the Figure 8 but Rousey used the chair to escape.

* Charlotte taunted Rousey by saying “Happy Mother’s Day” but Rousey then applied a chair-assisted armbar and Charlotte quit to make Rousey the new champion.
