What is being said about Toni Storm, Athena, and Nixon Newell possibly signing with AEW

As previously noted, Tony Khan teased the debut of a new female wrestler in AEW and it was later announced that The Bunny will be facing a mystery opponent in the women’s Owen Hart tournament.

Fightful Select provided some news items regarding possible female AEW signings…

* Fightful noted that according to people within AEW, “there is significant interest in Toni Storm joining the company, to the point that several talent outright expects her to land with the company sooner than later.” It was added that several wrestlers have been pushing for Storm to be brought in.

* There have reportedly been “at least light talks and gauging interest” between Athena (formerly Ember Moon) and the company. Athena has apparently been “very selective” when it comes to her independent bookings.

* While Nixon Newell (Tegan Nox) could end up with AEW at some point, it’s believed that she has been dealing with visa issues since she was released from WWE. As of a couple of weeks ago, Newell was reportedly “very busy” trying to sort out the situation.
