Cody Rhodes reportedly a free agent and working without a contract in AEW

Cody Rhodes is the current AEW TNT Champion but he is reportedly working for the company with a contract. Fightful.com reports that Cody’s deal expired at the end of 2021 and he is “technically” a free agent. The site also wrote the following…

“Based on sources we followed up with in AEW this morning, we’re told that some have known about this over the past several weeks.”

In regards to the report, Sean Ross Sapp wrote the following…

“There have been probably six or seven ‘foregone conclusion’ contracts of ‘they’re leaving’ or ‘they’re staying’ or ‘they’re lifers’ that have went the opposite way over the past year.”

After missing last week’s Dynamite, Cody is scheduled to appear on this Wednesday’s show.
