Ring of Honor’s tape library up for sale?
As previously noted, it was announced for Ring of Honor would be going on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022 and it was reported that “everyone” was being released from their contracts.
Justin Barrasso of SI.com is reporting that the ROH tape library is available for sale and will go to the highest bidder. Barrasso noted the following…
“ROH has been privately trying to move the library (the Sinclair-owned archive from 2012 on) for more than a year. That includes the All In pay-per-view in September ’18, which was the precursor to AEW. (While AEW owns the trademark, it is ROH that owns the footage.) SI learned that the company is asking for much more than the current market dictates.”
However, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com wrote the following regarding SI’s report…
“Sources in AEW, Impact and WWE have all denied knowing anything about it, and if it was for sale right now, one would think WWE and AEW would be the first people contacted.”
