What WWE originally had planned for the AJ Styles and Omos tag team

WWE split up numerous tag teams in the 2021 Draft and it appears that AJ Styles and Omos were another team that were almost broken up. Twitter account @WrestleVotes noted the following…

“WWE had seriously considered breaking the pairing of AJ Styles & Omos during draft. To the point where that was the plan. Until people of power (including a main RAW talent) spoke up & expressed thoughts on how Omos isn’t quite ready for singles yet. And they actually listened.”

AJ Styles and Omos are scheduled to challenge RK-Bro for the RAW tag team titles at the 2021 Crown Jewel PPV event and will seemingly remain a team regardless of the match’s outcome.
