What is being rumored for Kenny Omega’s return to wrestling following diverticulitis surgery

AEW star Kenny Omega has been dealing with diverticulitis over the past several months. Omega reportedly underwent surgery in May to aid in his recovery.

Omega is currently scheduled to appear at NJPW’s Power Struggle event on November 4th 2024 but won’t be wrestling. However, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that a comeback match could be teased with Young Bucks vs. Omega and Hiroshi Tanahashi for the January 5th 2025 Wrestle Dynasty show.

In regards to Omega’s AEW return, Meltzer wrote the following…

“Omega is talking about his comeback as if it’s a thing, rather than a possibility, so it should be relatively soon. The idea all along has been to set up a fifth match with Kazuchika Okada, although that is quite the standard those two have to live up to as their previous four matches were all among the best matches in history.”
