* Miro, who has been out of action since November due to a hamstring injury, landed an acting role as the character Nikolai Dushkin in the CBS series East New York. A trailer for the pilot episode was recently published.

* In regards to Kenny Omega’s recovery from injuries, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com wrote that “there isn’t even close to a date set for Omega to return.” There has been speculation of Omega having a match against El Hijo del Vikingo for AAA in October if Omega is able to compete by then.

In recent weeks, Omega has reportedly been working behind the scenes at AEW television tapings.

* Paige VanZant has been absent from AEW television but Dave Meltzer noted that she is “scheduled to return.” VanZant recently shared training footage on her TikTok account.

“…I did know that my career would take me to pro wrestling eventually. I wasn’t sure what venue that would be if that would be the WWE. If that would be AEW. I have been a fan of both, so I actually did make it out about a year ago to WWE headquarters, and they had a different plan for what they wanted for me. Whereas with AEW, I’m so excited that they were happy to partner with me and let me continue to fight MMA continue to do BareKnuckle Boxing. They are really honestly on board to just build my career., build me as a wrestler and let me be myself.” (quote courtesy of SEScoops.com)

Continuing MMA: “I do want to do MMA still and I do see my future in MMA. I’m 27 years old. I’ve just been fortunate enough that my career got kick-started at a very young age.”

Wanting to get into wrestling: “The more I got involved, the more I loved it. I just realized I was meant to be a part of the show. I wanted to be one of the wrestlers for them and I knew I would be really good at it.”

Her training: “My only frustration so far with my whole pro-wrestling journey is I would show up and I said, ‘Hey, I want to jump off the ropes tonight. I want to slam someone through a table tonight — someone is getting slammed through a table.’ They’re like, uh, you should probably train first. My only concern is they don’t let me do the crazy stuff right away. I want to go in there and I want to do all the crazy stuff. I want to fully immerse myself in this world.”

What she can do for AEW: “I think I bring a lot to the table. I have a whole different audience that doesn’t necessarily follow [AEW] yet. I have the pro fighting audience — pro MMA and pro boxing. I think I bring a lot of value with my name brand.”
