While speaking to Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk, WWE star Drew McIntyre commented on his rivalry with CM Punk. Here is what McIntyre had to say…

“Can’t stand him. It’s like you have to work with people you don’t like. I mean, you’ve got your own business to fire people you don’t like, but I can’t. I get writers telling me, ‘You’re working with that guy?’ And I’m like, ‘I can’t stand him.’ But I know he’s very good at his job. Like, I can be professional. I’m very good at my job.

You put us together. You don’t have to find the real in it. Like, he doesn’t like me. I can’t stand him. You put us together, it’s magic for the audience. But also, we have to be professional and not pound each other.

When I say we pound each other’s heads, I would murder him. You see him in UFC? It would look like that if it got real in there.”

McIntyre later stated the following…

“He’s a genuine piece of crap. He’s good at hiding it these days, you know, playing the corporate kind of role backstage and whatever, because he knows he’s got nowhere else to go. He’s burned his bridges everywhere. This is his last chance to stay in wrestling, so he has to be nice to everybody.

But behind those eyes, he’s crying because he just wants to be a dick nonstop. Very Charles Manson like.”

Drew McIntyre says he’ll be back on WWE television “eventually”

While speaking to Going Ringside, WWE star Drew McIntyre commented on his transition from WWE to movie projects. Here is what McIntyre had to say…

“I’ve been very lucky that these opportunities have come my way, and we’ll see what the future holds.

I think it’s pretty interesting, the way I see it. I don’t want to be the big bad guy, the big heavy number three. I’m not interested in that. If there’s a unique role, or people generally think this kind of person would play this role, what if we put someone like Drew in that role? The size, the accent, and hopefully, when people see some of the projects I’ve been working on, they can see that this guy can show a little bit of range.

Maybe the casting directors and directors themselves might think, ‘Hey, we should try Drew in this role and try to be different,’ because that’s what we’ve been doing the past few months, and I ain’t changing for anybody.”

McIntyre also commented on when he’ll return to WWE…

“I’ll be back eventually. You know, WWE is my home, but at the same time, Hollywood Drew is busy right now and focused on Hollywood Drew. So, when I get back eventually, it’s going to be a big deal.

I’ve never been out for six months since I was 15. I started wrestling professionally, and I’ve never had six months off in this entire time. So, when I come back, I think it’s going to be a big deal for the fans, and it’ll be a big deal for me, but it’s not right now.”

While speaking to Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk, WWE star Drew McIntyre commented on wrestling matches being rehearsed. Here is what McIntyre had to say…

“Unless it’s stunt practice, but when it comes to the matches, you should know what you’re doing. We could talk about it a bit.

You got 10 minutes, you got 15 minutes, you got 20 minutes. Go out there and listen to the crowd. Wrestle. I can’t stand when people plan stuff from beginning to end because you don’t know how the crowd’s going to react.

A lot of people are good at listening, but some people panic, and it’s not fun if you’re on live TV and somebody panics and you’re talking to them like, ‘Hey, this ain’t working. We’re going to go this direction now.’ And they kind of freeze up, and that’s when things look choppy. Not choppy in the good way.

I like it if it looks kind of real, if it’s kind of choppy and you get really physical with each other. But if things start messing up in an obvious way, it’s not good. If there’s a miscommunication or somebody’s trying to tell the other person, ‘Let’s go this direction,’ and they’re not quite ready.”

Drew McIntyre comments on his extended absence from WWE television

Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE television since his loss to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42. While speaking to Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk, McIntyre commented on taking time off for movie projects…

“Once I finished Highlander, I was about to return to WWE, and I got a phone call from the agent. He said to me, ‘Russell Crowe is asking for you to be in a movie.’

Yeah. Okay. And I hung up. I should have said, ‘I’ve got De Niro on the other line or something.’ Someone said that recently. It was pretty funny.

But I didn’t believe it. I just hung up, and he called me back. He said, ‘I’m serious. It really is. You’re wanted for this movie.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, sorry about that.’ But he sent me the script, whatever. Let’s talk about it, I guess, if this is a real thing.

Then I really liked the script. I loved the character, and the fact that Russell was asking for me was just bizarre to me. I guess he went to Henry and kind of asked about me. Henry put me over for the performance on Highlander, and we got working with WWE. I said, ‘I know I’ve been out for a couple of months and I’m supposed to come back, but there’s this thing here. I think it’s a big opportunity. I’m not leaving. I want to be the first full-time WWE wrestler that’s done two movies with A-listers back to back. I think it’s a great look for the company. It’s good for my brand, which is good for our brand.’

Basically had that whole speech ready. The executives said, ‘Okay, if Triple H says okay.’ And I had it ready. I got him on the phone, and we’re talking, and I’m like, ‘Here we go. I’ve got my notes.’

And he was like, ‘Yeah, Drew, I think it’s best we keep you off and do it because it is a great opportunity.’

I was like, ‘Oh, damn it! But, Paul, I’ve got all these notes and things to—’

He was like, ‘No, D, you’re good. You don’t even have to tell me.'”

McIntyre also stated the following about his return…

“I can’t wait for people to see, you know, how I am in the ring, how I’m moving now. And, you know, maybe I’ll be back soon. Maybe I’ll be back later, but for now, we’re focused on Hollywood Drew. When I come back, because I will be talking about it nonstop. Your ears are going to bleed from how much I’m going to talk about it and how much people should be grateful that I’m back, because I don’t need WWE and the fans now, you need me.”

While speaking to Dan Soder, WWE star Drew McIntyre commented on his evolution in wrestling when it came to cutting promos. Here is what McIntyre had to say…

“The past few years, when I was outside the company, I really worked on the microphone stuff. I came back and found my voice. I finally found my character, which is basically me. There’s a lot of truth in there.

In real life, I just talk so much crap, and people are always laughing.I’m not, like, intentionally funny. I can sit and write something. I’m just unintentionally funny, apparently. And sometimes I was like, I kind of rip on people a lot. I’m British. I’m Scottish. We talk crap all the time. Maybe I should start doing that on screen.

I really started letting people have it, to the point where they were forgetting they were playing a character. They’re like, ‘You said that about me.’ No, I didn’t. I said that about your character on Twitter. Don’t be such a loser. It’s not you. It’s the character I’m talking to.”

McIntyre also commented on CM Punk’s physical transformation in 2026…

“I saw he got himself in shape. I’ve been gone for five months, he finally found the gym, that skinny-fat piece of crap. I was like, ‘Oh, you’re in good shape for you.’ You’re not in good shape, look at me. Like, I’m in good shape. You’re in good shape for you.”

Drew McIntyre believed to be making his WWE comeback “soon”

Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE television since his loss to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42.

McIntyre was reportedly spotted at WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, earlier this week. According to PWInsider.com, McIntyre was there to meet with WWE officials and participate in media interviews promoting the company’s upcoming micro-drama, which will also feature Joe Hendry and Jacob Fatu.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that McIntyre “should be back soon as most of his acting commitments are over.” McIntyre will play Angus MacLeod in the upcoming Highlander film and he will also star alongside Crowe in The Last Druid.

McIntyre recently shared a video of himself training in the ring as he works to get back into wrestling shape. However, his return date has not been confirmed.

Drew McIntyre pays tribute to Pac: “You should want to be remembered as somebody like Ben”

In a post via Twitter/X on September 27th 2026, AEW officially announced that Pac aka Neville passed away at the age of 40. In a video published to social media, WWE star Drew McIntyre paid tribute to Pac. Here is what McIntyre had to say…

“Just like everybody out there, you know, I’ve tried to write some thoughts and words in 180 characters or less because I want to add to the positivity and the memories of Ben. And that’s what it is: positivity. Even though the situation is just horrible and not fair, everyone’s so positive about him because there’s not a damn bad word you can say about him.

Over two decades in this industry, and after all that time and, you know, things not always going your way, you can get pretty jaded. And he never did. He kept his passion, and he kept being a good person. And look at the way he’s being remembered.

In the end, you can achieve everything you want to achieve in the ring, have all these highlight reels that people will watch back one day and they might enjoy, but they’ll Google your name eventually. And if you were a piece of crap, they’re gonna know you were a piece of crap.

That’s not how I want to be remembered. And that’s how you should not want to be remembered. You should want to be remembered as somebody like Ben.

I met him over two decades ago, during his first matches outside the backyard in W3L in Carlisle, England. And I remember being like, ‘I’ve never seen anybody fly like that or be as precise as he was.’ I did tell him afterwards, ‘I think you did every move ever invented and invented some of your own. Maybe back off a little bit.’ And he didn’t. And thank God he didn’t, ’cause he took the wrestling world by storm.

We had a chance to work together in Irish Whip Wrestling in Ireland and RQW in London. And I’d tell him, ‘You’re the one that’s gonna do it. You’re gonna go to America.’ He told me the same thing, and we both blazed our own paths. But it was such a joy to watch him achieve everything he achieved and have these incredible, incredible matches.

I sadly missed his run in WWE. I was outside the company at the time, but I was always so blown away by him. And every time I saw him, he’d never changed. And his company that he kept, his close friends that he kept, were people that, you know, I love being around, love hanging out with, and love talking to.

We’re all like-minded, and I hope the new generation, you know, remember, because we don’t have as many shows, we don’t spend as much time together. You know, we’re a team, we’re a family, and we’re lucky to spend all this time together. And we lose one of our own, everybody hurts.

And I’m hurting for everybody out there right now, all my brothers and sisters, for Ben’s family and friends and for his wife. It’s just, it really isn’t fair, but, you know, let’s keep his memory going. Let’s keep it alive, and everybody keep telling your stories and say your words whenever you’re ready.

And tell those you love that you love them.

Sign Guy, gotta shout him out as well. You know, he was always there when a 22-year-old kid was terrified on a roster with people like The Undertaker and Kane and John Cena and Triple H and Shawn Michaels, and no one gave a damn about him. He got the crowd going when he was good, he got the crowd booing when he was bad, until he found his feet. And then he let me have it the entire time, so rest in peace to Sign Guy. Just tell your people you love them.

News regarding Drew McIntyre’s status with WWE heading into the fall of 2026

Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE television since his loss to Jacob Fatu at WrestleMania 42. According to PWInsider.com, McIntyre is back in the United States after completing filming for the Highlander reboot and The Last Druid, which stars Russell Crowe.

However, there are reportedly no active creative discussions regarding his WWE television return at this time, meaning an in-ring comeback may not happen immediately. McIntyre is still working on major WWE-related projects, including the upcoming live-action microdramas with ReelShort featuring Jacob Fatu and Joe Hendry.

This week, McIntyre published a workout video with the caption, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

Rumors of Drew McIntyre returning to WWE for SummerSlam said to be “completely inaccurate”

Last week, it was reported by WrestleVotes Radio that an internal document distributed earlier this month referenced both Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre in connection with WWE SummerSlam 2026. However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com provided the following update regarding McIntyre…

“Don’t expect former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre back anytime soon in a WWE ring. While online reports suggested McIntyre was set for a return leading into SummerSlam, those rumors were completely inaccurate as there has been nothing on the table for McIntyre creatively, and for good reason. Since returning from filming the Highlander reboot in Scotland, McIntyre has been circling several other Hollywood projects.”

McIntyre has been announced for a role in the upcoming historical action drama The Last Druid, which will star Russell Crowe. Filming is scheduled to take place in Spain this summer. According to the film’s synopsis, “An Emperor discovers a secluded Druid stronghold, forcing a peaceful Celtic elder to take up arms and protect his family and people from annihilation.” Crowe will portray the Celtic elder. There is currently no word on what role McIntyre will play in the film.
