“About two months ago, we finished up our feud with the Men of the Year, we had Scorpio Sky drop the belt to Wardlow. Sky was going to take a couple of months off because he had a knee injury that needed to heal. [Ethan] Page was being repackaged so he could do what he is doing now with The Firm and with MJF. So I thought that it was a good time to wind down, I thought that I was getting stale. The reactions were still good, but I just grabbed Tony [Khan] after the show and said that I think this has run its course. I don’t want to go backwards or overstay my welcome. He was like, ‘Yeah man, sure. If you have an idea for something in the future then come back, then sure, whatever, call me.’ If Tony called me tomorrow and had a good idea and I liked it then sure, I’ll do it.” (quote courtesy of PostWrestling.com)

“I know we’ve living rent free in your head since you got here but if you only knew what Tay and I did while wearing that belt, then you’d know we now live in your mouth too.”

Tay Conti then published a photo on Twitter of her and Sammy in their bedroom with the title…

On Thursday, Sammy Guevara became a trending topic on Twitter. Here were some of the top comments…

@Saintwrestling1: “The IWC hates Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti but the live crowds say otherwise”

One person even went as far as to start a petition to have Guevara and Conti taken off television.

They be dead ass serious

Like I get Sammy and Tay are annoying but here’s the thing, both are doing their job and fans have the freedom to change the channel or better yet, take a bathroom break. But a petition, that’s low key stupid. Like no one forces you to watch it https://t.co/msAK5YTCtp pic.twitter.com/WLK7gctdBq

“I’d like to hope it’ll be back to the Monday Night Wars where everyone keeps stepping their product up to outdo the competition. Call me biased because I’m with AEW right now, but I don’t see WWE stepping their game up. Bobby Lashley is a real dear friend of mine. I love the guy. I’ve known him for 15+ years and I’m not even at the point where I’m fast-forwarding through Monday Night RAW to get to his shtick. I don’t even hit play. I’m not a big fan of WWE’s product these days. I still think they have some really good talents over there, but I just have a hard time watching it.”

“The wrestling boom, in my mind, is what AEW is doing and watching their product and watching their show. Even though there are certain things in it that I don’t like. Some of the things I say in my character, I actually believe. But there are so many other things that they have. Talk about having a buffet of different genres of professional wrestling. You go to one show at AEW and see every style you like, and a couple of other styles you don’t like. WWE is more of the same for me. I see WWE as being somewhat egotistical in their approach that they are who they are and what they are. They don’t have to change anything or do anything differently and people are still going to watch. I think it’s had a little bit of an opposite effect because I think a lot of people support AEW just because they want to stick their finger in the eye of a WWE that’s run roughshod for all of these years.”
