“He is expected to undergo surgery shortly for a torn biceps, if it hasn’t happened already. The location of where the injury happened actually worked in Reed’s favor as Birmingham is just a short drive from Georgia. There is no word yet how long he will be out of action. “So, uh, knowing Brock Lesnar as I do—even though I’ve only known him for a short amount of time—he is a very intense individual. He is the Beast; that’s just who he is. And I saw him slip and somehow back-roll and get straight back to his feet. In my mind, I was thinking, ‘He’s either going to laugh this off’—which he actually did; he laughed it off and we got back to business—’or he’s going to be very angry and all those guys in the ring are going to pay for it.’

“I don’t know who wrestled beforehand, because Drew [McIntyre] said during his entrance that he almost slipped. “Well, it is still there. It’s still available, but it’s altered. You can still buy it, but there was some copyright infringement stuff there that they had to remove the shoes, which is fair enough. I get it. But, I personally was hoping that they’ll just put on some generic shoes. You know, that’s the whole the whole thing was I was walking around with people’s shoes around my neck. They just decided to keep it as the Tribal Thief logo. So if I have my way, I’ll make sure that the shirt hopefully can come back out with the shoes on it.”

In an interview with RollingStone.com, Reed discussed the injury and revealed what Paul “Triple H” Levesque told him…

“I just remember I jumped off the cage and, I’ve jumped off of that height before… and never once did I put my foot down and for some reason, when I jumped off that cage, my instincts kicked in and I put my foot down, and then that’s what broke my talus bone in my foot, which is a terrible injury to have ’cause it’s hard to rehab from. So in the moment, I remember it happening, and I wasn’t even in pain. I think I was in more shock, like, ‘Oh no, what’s this gonna mean?’”

“I stood up and I walked backstage. The doctors didn’t think I had anything broken because I was able to walk. But then [WWE chief content officer Paul Levesque] came and sat with me backstage, and he was trying to reassure me… I went to stand up and I couldn’t stand up. He called me himself, and he said, ‘Just worry about rehabbing and getting yourself right again…when you come back here, you’re gonna be in the right spot.’”

“I broke my talus bone completely in half. It separated and went apart. And so that’s a very hard injury to come back from. I had my foot up like this for three months. My leg atrophied. I had to build all my muscle back up in this right leg. Had to learn to walk again on this right leg, then learn to run, then learn to jump, and then eventually get in a ring and do everything that we do in the ring.”

“The crazy part about it is, is everyday life, walking around, running, doing those things, it’s painful, but when I get in that ring, I forget it. Wrestling is what brought me back from the injury. But I’m still in pain every day, but I’m working through it. My mobility in this right foot will never be 100% again.
