Report: Accuser in 90's WWF sex scandal dies Submitted by Aaron T-Bar Rift on 02/12/2021 at 11:06 PM
According to a Twitter post from his brother Lee, former WWF (WWE) ring boy Tom Cole died by suicide on Friday. Cole, who worked for WWF in the late 1980's, later accused several WWF officials of sexual misconduct including Director of Wrestling Operations Terry Garvin, ring announcer Mel Phillips, and Pat Patterson. The sex scandal ended up being covered on The Phil Donahue Show (video below) in 1992.
Wrestlingperspective.com did an interview with Cole in 1999 about his accusations. Click here for the first part and click here for the second part.
As his brother Lee tweeted below, Tom Cole, 50, the central accuser in the WWE ring boy molestation scandal, killed himself tonight.
I'll have a lot more to say, but this f***ing sucks.
Something I should make clear, as I have a feeling it may come up:
Tom Cole never changed his story. Yes, there were periods where he was more forgiving of the McMahons/WWE. And yes, as more time passed, he got vague in public about what happened. But he never changed his story.
