Rhea Ripley's WWE status; Update on Thatcher

- Mike Johnson of is reporting that unless Vince McMahon changes his mind, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley are expected to be the next NXT call-ups to the main roster. Johnson wrote the following:

"The current belief is that last night's New Year's Evil broadcast was planned to be the final NXT appearances for Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest and they each will be shifted to the main roster."

Both Priest and Ripley lost decisively on the show and that's usually a sign that talents are moving to the main roster. As previously noted, there were reportedly plans for Priest to debut on last week's Smackdown which were scrapped.

- According to Mike Johnson, the Timothy Thatcher "injury" is a work. WWE reportedly wants to wait a few weeks before having Thatcher face Tommaso Ciampa in a Fight Pit match. At this time, a new date for the match has not been announced and NXT's next major show is the NXT Takeover PPV on Sunday, February 14th.
