WWE reportedly finalizes deal to purchase EVOLVE
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 07/02/2020 at 09:16 PM

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has officially acquired ownership of the Gabe Sapolsky-Sal Hamaoui promotion EVOLVE. There were rumors about a possible sale but the deal was only recently finalized. Johnson noted that WWE "will have the complete rights to use the EVOLVE brand name and produce EVOLVE events going forward, whether as live events or WWE Network programming."

WWE will have access to the tape library which includes matches from stars such as Mia Yim, AR Fox, Bobby Fish, Eddie Kingston, The Young Bucks, Sabu, Daniel Bryan, Austin Aries, Zack Sabre Jr. Ethan Page, Trent, Cedric Alexander, and others.

Despite having a working relationship with WWE, the promotion was struggling financially and the Covid-19 pandemic only made matters worse.
