Breaking news: Drew Gulak gone from WWE

Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com and WWE Backstage is reporting that Drew Gulak has been released from WWE. Gulak's WWE profile was moved to the Alumni section of WWE.com earlier today.

In an update on the story, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that Gulak's WWE contract actually expired and he wasn't released. Johnson noted that the two sides had been discussing a new deal but weren't able to come to terms. With Gulak's contract being expired, there is no 90-day non-compete clause and he is free to work for any wrestling company. Johnson added the Gulak could still end up signing a new contract with WWE.

Gulak's last match with WWE aired on last night's edition of Smackdown when Gulak lost to Daniel Bryan in the Intercontinental Title tournament.
