Update on the status of the NXT Takeover: Tampa matches
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 03/24/2020 at 10:39 AM

According to Justin Barrasso of SI.com, matches that were scheduled to take place at the NXT Takeover: Tampa PPV event will instead be airing on upcoming episodes of WWE NXT in April. Barrasso noted the following:

"Beginning Wednesday, April 1, NXT will add some additional excitement to its weekly TV programming by airing the matches planned for TakeOver on a weekly basis. Paul 'Triple H' Levesque is expected to be on this week’s edition of NXT as part of the announcement."

At this time, the only match that was officially announced was the ladder match to determine the #1 contender for the NXT women's title. Matches that were being set up for the PPV included Adam Cole vs. Velveteen Dream for the NXT world title and Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa.
