Backstage news regarding Britt Baker returning to AEW after being away for almost two years

As seen during the 2026 AEW All In Buy-In show, Britt Baker made her return to the company. This was her first appearance on an AEW broadcast since November of 2024.

According to Fightful Select, Britt Baker’s name has been brought up several times regarding a potential return to AEW. Those within AEW said discussions picked up significantly after the announcement of the “Rebel Heart” Dynamite show, although there had reportedly been previous attempts to bring Baker back.

Baker was said to have been open to returning in the past, but nothing ultimately came together. Those close to Baker also claimed that she took herself off the road in 2024, although the reason for her absence was not disclosed.

As seen during the 2026 AEW All In: London PPV event, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega to become the AEW men’s world champion. While speaking on his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on the match…

“I didn’t like the match at all, and I know people are going to b*tch, ‘Bischoff’s such a hater.’ Look, for those who like the AEW style of wrestling, it was fine. You got what you wanted. You got what you paid for, and it met or exceeded your expectations, and I’m happy for you.

For me personally, subjectively, based on what I enjoy out of professional wrestling, it was like watching a Nasty Boys match. It was a hardcore, slow-paced match. And yes, it was bloody and there were great spots, but that’s my one overriding critique throughout most of the matches.

The entrances were, by and large, ranging from really, really good to okay. The majority of them fell in the really, really good category, but the matches were—they were okay, but there was nothing special. There was a lot of garbage in there. There was a lot of stuff that you could see through. Timing was off in a number of matches, and a number of them just looked sloppy.

So, yeah, I know everybody’s into, ‘Where the best wrestle and the wrestling is so good and Dave Meltzer is going to give it so many stars.’ That’s great for the audience that really likes the AEW style.

I mean, that’s what most of this was tonight. It was just, if it’s a 12-minute match, it’s, ‘You get six minutes of high spots and I get six minutes of high spots. We’re just going to take turns.’ That’s the match. And then you get your holy sh*ts, and you get all your ‘This is awesomes’, and the crowd reacts because that’s what they’re there for.

They’re there for the high spots, and they’re getting what they paid for, which is a good thing. I’m not being critical of it. It’s a great thing. They put 50,000 asses in seats. It’s a great thing.

But for me personally, the matches were just okay.”

As seen during the 2026 AEW All In: London PPV event, Will Ospreay defeated Kenny Omega to become the AEW men’s world champion. After the match, Ospreay spoke at the post-show media scrum to discuss his victory. Here is what Ospreay had to say…

“I got emotional walking to the ring today because I didn’t want to let anyone down. I’ve had such a f*cking stressful week, man. It has been so f*cking hard on me mentally. I’ve literally seen my kid for 6 hours this week, man. It’s been f*cking stressful. I was just dreading going out there and just sh*tting the bed, to be honest with you. Like, I was f*cked.

I was so terrified of letting so many people down but that feeling at the end of just knowing that like it’s all done, honestly, my spirits brightened up so much the moment the weekend kicked in. The moment Friday came around, I was helping produce Pro Wrestling Eve. Saturday I popped over at Rev Pro and you just felt the energy of so many people are gathered around to celebrate pro wrestling, and then to top it off with— I mean, I’ll say it, probably the best pay-per-view that we’ve ever done, top to bottom. Tell me one bad match. You can’t. Every single person smashed it and delivered. We were Royal Mail today, guys. We delivered.”

Ric Flair threatens legal action against people that have been selling his robes without authorization

Over the weekend, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair made a public appearance at Dynasty Sports. Following the event, Flair commented on his appearance in a post via Twitter/X, where he also addressed an issue involving his wrestling robes…

“It was a phenomenal weekend in Philadelphia, and thank you very much to Dynasty Sports and Steve Solomon.

Unfortunately, it has come to my attention that my robes are being sold by people who don’t own them or have a receipt from me. If they do, they are more than welcome to. If they don’t, just like Tiffany VanDemark, who stole five of them, as of tomorrow, my attorney will seek legal documentation, and if you don’t have it, you will be expecting a letter from my attorney in Boston.

I can’t imagine why anybody would steal anything that I worked so hard for. Not cool, and I’m coming for you. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as I get older, I understand the importance of having some of my memorabilia.”

News regarding the impression Kofi and Austin Creed made with people backstage at AEW All In

As seen during the 2026 AEW All In PPV event, former WWE stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods debuted as The New Level with the names Kofi and “Awesome” Austin Creed.

PWInsider.com noted that Kofi and Creed reportedly went out of their way to introduce themselves and meet as many people as possible backstage at All In. According to the outlet, numerous people within AEW were already beyond impressed with the duo on a personal level.

There was said to have been no sense that Kofi and Creed felt they were above anyone because of their WWE tenures. It’s believed that they were extremely open, both creatively and in their interactions with others backstage.

One source described them by saying, “They are everything you always heard about, plus more.” Another source added that WWE’s loss was absolutely AEW’s gain.

During the post-show media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan publicly stated the following…

“Something that got me excited about New Level, these guys are not afraid to work very hard. They told me, ‘Hey, we see Jon Moxley at AEW Dynamite and Collision basically every week. WWE held a house show on August 30th 2026 at the North Charleston Coliseum & Performing Arts Center in South Carolina, with Kevin Owens among the talents in action. Footage captured after the match showed Owens being helped backstage while limping. Sports journalist Kevin Bilodeau shared the video and wrote…

“Kevin Owens had to be helped to the back after suffering an apparent knee injury at #WWECharleston”

In regards to Owens potentially being hurt, PWInsider.com noted that nobody in WWE seems to know for sure but some talents believed he was just selling. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com later wrote on Twitter/X, “Kevin Owens is okay from what we are told. No injury.”

“No Khan has got the pocketbook. Nick, Tony, they ain’t got the money. I’m out.

I’m gonna take your chant and say that because a lot of you folks spent a whole lot of resources on my farewell tour. And if I decide to selfishly come back for ego-driven reasons, basically that’s saying I’m lying to every one of y’all.

You might not mind, but there are people who paid a fortune to sit at that last match, and for me to be like, ‘just kidding.’ I’ve had so many families that put so so much effort into saving just to see those moments. For me, I’m out of it with my health. I feel good. I got good clarity, good closure. As far as me falling down ever again, I’m out.”

Eric Bischoff believes that New Day becoming New Level is “the cheap way out”

As seen during the 2026 AEW All In PPV event, former WWE stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods debuted as The New Level with the names Kofi and “Awesome” Austin Creed. While speaking on his podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff reacted to the name change. Here was the exchange with Bischoff and his co-host Conrad Thompson…

Thompson: “They were New Day there. They’re New Level here. Do you like leaning into that because it’s familiar, or would you rather see them try something completely different?”

Bischoff: “I would rather try something completely different. I know why they’re doing it, and there’s an argument for that. There’s probably some logic to it that you can’t totally dismiss, but it’s like a hangover that won’t go away.

I think breaking clean from a previous character and establishing a new character, in this case, characters with New Level, is a smarter long-term approach than hanging on to the past, which is what they’re doing. They’re trying to draft off of the equity that the former New Day had in WWE, which I understand. I’m not criticizing it. I completely understand it from a business perspective.

I prefer not to have to do that. So, given a choice, if I think I have the option of creating something really new and unique and powerful, or effective at least, I would opt to do that before I would take the easy way out, the cheap way out, and try to come up with something that’s a derivative. People don’t like derivatives. They like authenticity. They like originals.

When you have to be a derivative, it suggests that you don’t know how to become unique.”

Thompson: “That’s interesting because, and I know before I even look at the comments, a lot of people are going to cite WCW examples of guys who came over and had a very similar-sounding name. But respectfully, most of those, if we’re honest, didn’t really work out to be all that great, like IRS or, you know, when the Big Boss Man comes over and he’s The Guardian, or Earthquake comes over and he’s Avalanche or whatever.”

Bischoff: “When I’m when I say these things, some of it is based on experience. Some of it is actually based on the fact that I f*cked that sh*t up. Right. And I learned from it.

You would think other people would learn from it too, and learn from what other people do and have success with or don’t have success with. So, yeah, I’ve done it and I’ve learned the hard way. It doesn’t work. There’s a better way.”
