NoDQ.com > UFC > Is Brock Lesnar going to miss UFC 108 as well?
Posted by Randy Gordon on 11/04/2009 at 04:40 PM

Thanks to FightLine.com for the following:

It’s been over a week since it was announced that UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was too sick to train, and it appears that he hasn’t gotten any better. Lesnar was due to defend his title against Shane Carwin on November 21st at UFC 106, but has been bedridden and and unable to train.

Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports spoke to Lesnar’s trainer, Greg Nelson, who told Iole that Lesnar still isn’t healthy enough to resume his training.

Lesnar’s camp is still unsure as to what he has, although from what we’re hearing, the H1N1 (Swine Flu) has been ruled out as the cause of the champion’s illness.

When we first reported that Lesnar appeared at a Vikings game when he was ill, it sparked quite a bit interest among MMA bloggers. However Nelson defended his fighter’s cameo at the game by saying, “There’s a big difference between making an appearance and smiling and waving at a football game and going out and doing what he has to do in his training.”

With the rescheduled bout tentatively set for January 2nd at UFC 108, Lesnar’s running out of time if he wants to have a complete training champ as he prepares to face the most explosive opponent of his career.
