The war of words between former Chute Boxe teammates Wanderlei Silva and Anderson Silva continued during the UFC 99 conference call last week.

“Before he was my friend, and I trained with him for a long time in Brazil before he (left)," Wanderlei noted during the call. "But I don’t know why he started talking bullshit about me in Brazil. I don’t know why . . . I think I’m inconveniencing him, understand? Because he knows who I am, and he knows it’s possible he’s in trouble with me.”

That statement is the latest in the war of words between the two over the last couple of months, which started when Anderson Silva called Wanderlei's move to middleweight "pretentious" in April.

“He is too cocky," Wanderlei said in an interview with Sherdog.com last April. "I hope he can read this. … I never talked anything bad about him; I always respected him. He has always been my friend, always respected me, but now he came with that statement. I can’t understand that. I didn’t come down to 185 to face him. Actually I didn’t have that intention. … Changing divisions and fighting the champion would be too pretentious. I should have to have many fights before facing him, but concerning his last statements, I think the way is open and the war is declared."

Anderson Silva threw more fuel on the fire when he helped train Rich Franklin for his fight with Wanderlei Silva this Saturday at UFC 99: The Comeback. Wanderlei Silva took Anderson to task for his alliance with Franklin, telling Fighters Only Magazine that “if Anderson believes in Franklin so much, bet $50,000, and let's see who takes the money.”

If Wanderlei Silva is able to get past Rich Franklin this Saturday, and Anderson Silva is able to successfully defend his title against the Michael Bisping - Dan Henderson winner at UFC 100, we may finally get to see a showdown between the two Silva's.
