NoDQ.com > UFC > Josh Koscheck and Frank Trigg at UFC 103 confirmed
Posted by Randy Gordon on 06/06/2009 at 02:53 AM

The rumored welterweight fight between top contender Josh Koscheck (12-4) and the returning UFC veteran Frank Trigg (19-6) that was rumored last week, has been confirmed for UFC 103 in Dallas, Texas according to a report on MMAJunkie.com.

Koscheck had been getting himself in line for a shot at the UFC welterweight championship before suffering an upset loss to Paulo Thiago at UFC 95: Sanchez vs. Stevenson this past February. Koscheck was dominating the fight, before getting caught by Thiago midway through the first round.

Trigg will be returning to the UFC after nearly four years, when he lost to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 54: Boiling Point via submission in the first round. Since leaving the UFC, he garnered a 7-2 record with his only losses being to Robbie Lawler in March of 2007 and Calos Condit in April of 2006. He is currently on a four fight win streak, having last defeated Danny Babcock at XCF: Rumble in Racetown.

While a venue has yet to be announced for UFC 103, MMAJunkie.com reports that it is expected to take place on September 19th from the American Airlines Center.
