NoDQ.com > UFC > Silva Talks About fighting GSP & Roy Jones
Posted by Bobby Spade on 05/02/2008 at 04:04 PM

In a recent interview with our friends over at www.TATAME.com, UFC middleweight champion and arguably the top pound for pound fighter in MMA, Anderson Silva discussed a possible fight with recently crowned welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

On St. Pierre, Silva said "St. Pierre is a great fighter, but I would never put on weights to face the champion of the category. My weight is 98kg and I lose weight to fight at 83kg and I would never make that. But people talks what they want and if this fight really happen, I hope to make a good performance." If St. Pierre proves to be dominant at 170, this fight is a possibility as GSP's camp has mentioned moving up in weight. St. Pierre will need to get past Jon Fitch first and possibly Thiago 'Pitbull' Alves if Alves manages to beat Matt Hughes at UFC 85."

Anderson Silva is still interested in facing boxer Roy Jones Jr. It is a "personal wish" according to him. This is of interest because UFC president Dana White recently dismissed the notion of a Silva/Jones boxing match.
