HOW TO VOTE: Wrestling March Madness
Submitted by Damn Fine Wrestling on 02/28/2021 at 05:04 PM

A few days ago, I released brackets for a tournament of 68 men's wrestlers (women's to come this week) for a wrestling rendition of "March Madness".

I received an overwhelming response to the concept, which I haven't done in about 10+ years. However, before getting into how to vote, some clarifications...

1. Qualified wrestlers are based on a W-L record of 66% or higher with at least 20 wins, OR a 80% or higher winning percentage with at least 15 wins. I found that this bar narrowed down the field quite a bit.

2. To fill the rest of the spots who did not meet this criteria, I went to the PWI 500 rankings to fill the rest.

3. This is based on 2020 records and performances. This is why John Cena is not in this tournament, for example. This also leaves out notables such as Randy Orton or Ricochet, as their 2020 records did not meet qualifications. They also did not rank high enough on the PWI to qualify. This also explains why Brock Lesnar is a #15 seed. His 2020 record was only 1-2, but still ranked high enough on the PWI 500 to make it as a "bubble" wrestler.

4. Being a World or Secondary Champion (U.S./I.C./TNT) automatically earns you a bid into the tournament.

5. Please just have fun with this! It's a tournament reminiscent of playing Fire Pro Wrestling on the Dreamcast and simulating large tournaments.

HOW TO VOTE:

1. I have set up an anonymous Google form for voting easily on all 32 first round matchups. I will provide screenshots of the final votes.

2. Try to vote as if you were truly playing out "who would win" in each match. Of course I expect for many to vote for their favorites, but there are some first round matchups that should be somewhat squash matches.

Voting will have a cut off date of every Thursday. I will also be releasing the women's brackets on Thursday as well.

I'll be posting updates on my poorly upkept Twitter page, but hopefully NoDq will boost this tournament on their end. 😁

Until Thursday, happy voting!
