Wrestle Review: Always a Scene
Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 09/28/2019 at 11:39 AM

Wrestling weddings are always a scene. Something always happens. From the birth of evil Jake "The Snake" crashing The Macho Man" and Miss Elizabeth's reception-ushering in the Jake/Randy feud and the birth of Undertaker's face run to Triple H crashing the wedding of Stephanie and Test- ushering in the McMahon-Helmsley era-wrestling weddings never disappoint in bringing about something big.

Last night on Impact was the tv wedding of Brian Cage and Melissa Santos. Much like Randy and Liz, they'd been married for years before the tv relationship. Anyone who's been paying attention, you know that Brian Cage defends the Impact Championship against Sami Callahan at Bound For Glory next month. I knew Sami would interfere in the wedding and Impact didn't disappoint. Sami shows up and takes a swipe at Cage but hits Melissa instead. The show goes off the air with people checking on Melissa and a livid Cage.

Big rumor on the WWE front, at least one big rumor-there was an interview where Stone Cold made mention that he could perhaps have another match. Since The Fiend has been taking out legends, I wouldn't be shocked to see The Fiend vs Stone Cold at Crown Jewel. The Fiend would win, of course. His thing has been taking out legends: Jerry Lawler, Mick Foley, Kane just to name a few. I know there were murmurs of Edge being in the legends match and perhaps it will. After Edge spearing Elias last month, the hot rumor was Edge being the Crown Jewel legend. Now the talk is Stone Cold. It should be noted Austin is the only one of the two who has actually said he could have another match. Stay tuned!

This upcoming week is a big one in professional wrestling. Wednesday is the long awaited and much publicized debut of AEW Wednesday night Dynamite on TNT. Friday night is the debut of Friday night Smackdown on FOX. Before the show, Friday Night Smackdown kickoff airs. Now, I've heard some backlash(as you always will about something new) that they're trying to compete with AEW. No. Just, no. First of all, Impact is going head to head with Smackdown, as they will air this Friday from 8:30-11:00. It's usually 9-11 but my guide says they come on a half hour earlier this next week. It's going to be a monumental and massive week for wrestling. Exciting weeks for wrestling fans begin this Monday and I can't wait! Get your popcorn ready!
