Wrestle Review: New Era Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 07/06/2019 at 01:22 AM
Monday night, something happened that had a lot of us fans saying "YES" and "FINALLY"! I'm speaking of the end of Raw when they finally gave us The Club. This will surely result in AJ becoming United States Champion once again. Vince McMahon deserves a medal. Hear me out. To turn a bmf like Aleister Black into a joke who always pleads for someone to pick a fight with him.... and you know they're going to screw it up. They're probably going to choose this moment to finally bring back Bray Wyatt, who they seem to have dropped his Firefly segments. Either that or they just don't hold my interest anymore so I block them out. I can't be the only one.
The 24/7 championship continues to be the highlight of WWE programming. The lowlight continues to be Shane McMahon. I guess he's now the equivalent of 90's and early '00's Vince. His stable of Drew and Elias doesn't exactly give off Corporation vibes, though.
The North are the new Impact Wrestling tag team champions. LAX are drawing interest from both AEW and WWE. And why wouldn't they? Where would you rather see them sign? Honestly, if they went with AEW, they could still do other organizations(see Jon Moxley). They certainly wouldn't be able to do that if they signed with WWE.
This past Monday's Raw started out pretty insane with Braun and Lashley going through the Raw LED system. And how about Corey dropping a "holy sh!t live on air. Of course my rather negative, sometimes wet-blanket friend texted that he's heard them drop the s-bomb before. Really? You can't just be excited about the Heyman era? Anyway, combine that with Kofi flipping Joe off Tuesday night and I'd say we're in for a pretty interesting adventure.
Quick Slammiversary predictions:
Tessa Blanchard over Callihan.
Moose over RVD
Killer Kross beats Eddie Edwards in 1st blood.
The North retain the tag titles they won at Bash at the Brewery earlier.
Johnny Impact over Rich Swann for the X title.
Havok walks out of Monsters Ball Knockouts Champion.
Brian Cage retains the Impact World Championship against Michael Elgin.
