Wrestle Review: Dissapointment and Anticipation
Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 06/15/2019 at 01:16 AM

Monday night was, thankfully, an NBA Finals game so I didn't watch Raw. Not that it's appointment viewing for me anymore. I never thought I'd say that. Usually if one show is bad, the other is better. That isn't the case. In fact, usually one is bad and the other is worse. Pessimistic attitude, you say? Well, when you take into account that the main story character on both shows is Shane McMahon, you can see the issue. I actually just read that Shane McMahon could beat Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. Now that would be embarrassing.

Bray Wyatt is rumored to be at Raw this week. Will this finally be the return of Bray? And who will care? I mean, they've done these Firefly Funhouse vignettes for so long. I'm just afraid they'll bring him back in some corny way. I'm not saying he should be in the title picture as soon as he returns. Just don't put him in there against Lars Sullivan. Speaking of which...

I don't know why they keep sticking him in there with Lucha House Party other than the possibility nobody else will work with the guy. Well, nobody will have that issue because I read yesterday that he's injured. Apparently he was scheduled to face Matt Hardy on Smackdown. That match had to be pulled because of a knee injury. I'm thinking we may not see Lars again until 2020 or thereabouts. We'll really miss those Lucha House Party matches.....

I just finished watching Jon Moxley's New Japan debut where he won the IWGP U.S. Championship. Solid match. I look forward to seeing his first AEW match. Speaking of which, the "t-shirt company" sold out All In in under an hour. That's more than impressive! I'm definitely looking forward to checking out All In on the B/R app!

Show plugs: If you haven't yet checked out Beyond The Ring on Vice, do yourself a favor and go watch those shows. You'll be glad you did. I don't listen to a lot of podcasts but one I do listen to is the Chick Foley Show. Informative, fun, and they even have a wrestling figures segment for all you collectors out there. Give it a listen on Apple podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.

That's it for this week. Enjoy some wrestling and don't let the negative Nancy's get you down!

The future of wrestling looks pretty bright from here. Let the games begin!
