The X-Factor: Royal Rumble 2019 preview
Submitted by Victor Mariscal on 01/27/2019 at 04:15 AM

I’m gonna be there at Chase Field.

Last year, they managed to avoid a major s***-storm much like the one that happened in 2015. Will they be so lucky now?

Phoenix isn’t quite as passionate as Philahelphia, but we can still be pretty damn loud. Don’t let us down Vinnie Mac.

Just about any of the singles title matches has the potential to steal the show.

Let’s get to it.

SD Tag Team Championships
Shane McMahon and The Miz vs. The Bar (C)

I’m really having mixed feelings. Shane deserves some criticism here, but I really don’t want to hate him. He certainly never weighed the product down as much as his sister, who will likely make her presence felt in the show.

This reminds me of how Edge & Christian ended in 2001. Edge won King of the Ring but Christian carried the trophy around all the time.

Anyone can see where this is going. It’s disappointing that Miz isn’t quite as red-hot as he was post-‘Mania season in 2016. Too bad Maryse isn’t around anymore.

Winners: Shane McMahon and The Miz

Raw Women’s Championship
Sasha Banks vs. Ronda Rousey (C)

Baffling, isn’t it? He’s not too interested in pushing her – just look at her last year as proof – but the second Vince thinks the Boss will leave for AEW, suddenly she’s been penciled in against Ronda.

It was appropriate that the “Rowdy” one’s first match involved Kurt Angle who also had an amazing rookie year. Sadly his was imperfect thanks to Undertaker and Triple H. Ronda’s was also imperfect in some spots, but still kicked ass.

Sasha needs to put her best foot forward here, win or lose.

Winner: Ronda Rousey

Universal Championship
Finn Balor vs. Brock Lesnar (C)

When AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan battled the Beast, both of those matches rocked because of the format. Even if Brock left as the winner, it was important for him to walk back up the ramp showing he was in a fight. Those two lost, but they went down swinging the right way. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

We need to see The Demon King for this one. Will it happen? Does Lesnar need to hold the title coming into New Jersey? He will, and he has to if they’re giving the rub to someone.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

WWE Championship
AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan (C)

You might’ve heard that Chase Field is offering a crazy-looking Royal Rumble burger. Bryan took to Twitter to rant about it. Did he just telegraph another segment just like the recent one on Smackdown?

Betting odds or not, I want AJ to win. Who do they have planned to unseat Bryan as the champ anyway?

Winner: Daniel Bryan

SD Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch vs. Asuka (C)

I can just picture the crowd now. Becky’s music will hit and she’ll likely get the biggest reaction of the night.

We’re pretty sure what’s gonna happen at MetLife Stadium, but what will happen to Asuka going forward? I wonder if they’ll treat this as a transitional reign, but if Charlotte and Becky have other plans in April, who’s left to challenge the Empress?

There’s also the matter of how to give The Man – mixed opinion on that name – a way out and save her credibility.

Winner: Becky Lynch

Women’s Royal Rumble

I’m not gonna sit here and speculate on surprise entries for either Rumble. What’s the point? If they happen, they happen.

Of all the NXT Horsewomen, Bayley has easily suffered the most. If only she would heed Shawn Michaels’ advice the same way Becky did. Maybe that’s her problem: she’s too nice.

They could have a single winner with either Charlotte or or Becky with the other one winning their shot between now and WrestleMania 35. Would the fans be okay with a 1994 situation? It seems too neat though. Keep the casual fans guessing.

The wheels have been set in motion. It’s only a question of whether a female ‘Mania main event will happen.

1st pick: Charlotte Flair
2nd pick: Becky Lynch

Men’s Royal Rumble

This rumor I will talk about. A potential opponent for AJ Styles is the Heartbreak Kid himself. If he’s a surprise entrant, it would go a long way towards setting that up. Don’t act high and mighty and say you don’t wanna see it.

Seth Rollins is the easy choice to win this, with Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman being potential fallbacks.

Some trivia here. Rollins is the only Shield member Brock hasn’t actually defeated.

1st pick: Seth Rollins
2nd pick: Braun Strowman
3rd pick: Drew McIntyre

Don’t mess with the X.
