The X-Factor: Survivor Series 2017 - Bumps in the road
Submitted by Victor Mariscal on 11/16/2018 at 02:19 AM

There are those who bitch that the product is stale and predictable. Yet, they just threw not one but two of them our way. Surprising no one, fans have taken to their keyboards to complain.

The biggest negative here? AJ Styles may never get to surpass 434 days. BOO!!

As much as Styles deserved to defeat Brock Lesnar, I’d like to think they’re protecting him for something big down the line. There’s also the matter of protecting Brock Lesnar for whatever they have planned for him. The main reason why Brock’s 2014 happened was to give the rub to whoever was next in line. I don’t have to remind you how that went down.

Speaking of, you’re about to get the match you so desperately wanted at WrestleMania 31. You remember what we got instead? The match the haters rejected out of hand? The one where Roman Reigns put on an impressive show? With the greatest MITB cash-in of all time?

You don’t always know what you want until you get it.

If they are protecting Brock then it’s likely why Bryan won the title. Let’s face it; this is Daniel Bryan being tossed to the wolves. The overwhelming support D-Bry once enjoyed – which also caused the people to hate Roman Reigns with a passion – just isn’t there anymore. Had Daniel’s body not been so damaged, he would’ve gotten destroyed by Brock four years ago.

Vince is not as tone-deaf as you think. He tried this heel turn five years ago and the “YES Movement” wasn’t biting. They’re not rebelling as much now, are they?

What are they moving towards? There’s been talk of Drew McIntyre going for the Universal title. Will Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey actually headline WrestleMania 35?

The last-minute replacement thing worked out last year. Remember when Styles was called in to face Finn Balor? As much as you’re inclined to whine about Charlotte vs. Rousey happening without build-up, it is the match you wanted to see. They made that match AND they did so while showing Becky Lynch as the babyface we’ve seen her as.

Let’s hope Becky’s concussion isn’t that severe.

There’s a bright side to recent events. Triple H is missing WrestleMania 35. “That’s such a tragedy”, said no one ever. WrestleMania doesn’t need him. We don’t need another ridiculous entrance and a boring 30-minute match.

What is gonna happen now? We were gonna get The Rock vs. Roman Reigns in New Jersey. Batista was probably gonna get Triple H. Well, whoever he gets now will be better.

It’s true what those commercials said. Life really does come at you fast.

Don’t mess with the X.
