Wrestle Review: Series Shaping Up
Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 11/09/2018 at 11:27 PM

The Smackdown Survivor Series team is so volatile and dysfunctional that it's going to be so much fun! Daniel Bryan and Miz as co-captains? Yeah, that'll work. Add in Shane and Joe and this house of cards is bound to fall, I'd think. At the very least, it'll be fun to watch. Survivor Series is actually the easiest show for them to do, I'd say. Champion vs champion this year should be good.

The tag team match is one I'm looking forward to. The Bar vs new Raw tag champs AOP should be a hellacious fight. I can't wait! Becky and Ronda will also be excellent. There was a point of interest on Smackdown this week to do with Becky. We saw the main roster debut of Nikki Cross. I'm thinking she gets a title shot at TLC in December and becomes the new champion. I know that's soon for Cross to win and for Lynch to lose. Time will tell.

Johnny Impact retaining, Moose bearing Edwards were both pretty much what I figured might happen at Final Hour. Eli Drake turning heel on Joseph Park was pretty easy to see coming. The character of Drake isn't exactly one of trustworthiness, is it? Will this finally mean the return of his alter ego Abyss? Hopefully. I think we need Abyss/Drake, Monsters Ball. We'll see.

This upcoming week is, amazingly, the home stretch to Survivor Series. Survivor Series weekend is always doubly big for me. I'm a NASCAR fan. Survivor Series weekend is also Championship weekend. Add NXT in and it's shaping up to be quite the weekend!

It should be interesting wo see what occurs as we enter the home stretch of this(seemingly short) Survivor Series build. I kinda wish they'd go back to the old days where they'd actually spend a considerable amount of time to build storylines and not rush 2-3 events each month but, hey, that's the ramblings of a 39 year-old. I actually remember, fondly, the days where they'd start a ppv build a month or so in advance. Of course, this garners more money. So what if the product is watered down, right Vince? Also, could you not think of something better than the same main event as last Survivor Series? We could've had AJ vs Braun. That would've been fresh. Who knows? We may still get that match. Both men might be well past their prime when we finally do get it.

I'll be back next week with my Takeover and Survivor Series column.
