Wrestle Review: Universal Chump

Remember last week when Kurt Angle announced the multi-man #1 contender match for Extreme Rules? Well, this week, Kurt announced on Raw that the match had been cancelled. I figured it was storyline and they had something better in mind. I should've known better. After all, it IS WWE. Today we get the word that Brock Lesnar won't be at SummerSlam. I suppose the main event of SummerSlam will be something like Braun Stroman and Fin Balor vs Triple H, Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens.

Another thing I noticed: There are no actual extreme rues matches at the Extreme Rule event. You know that WWE doesn't exactly worry about details. Although, thigs might come together. I'll hold out hope, at least. Even if it is false. I guess we're getting Bayley vs Sasha at Extreme Rules. I'm glad they finally flipped the switch on that one. Thing is, I wonder how many fans still care? They've drug this out for quite awhile.

Before I get back to Impact for a bit, what is the point of calling up Sanity only to have them lose their debut match? You know who didn't lose his debut match? Rich Swann on Impact. I saw more stuff out of that guy in one match than I saw in his whole tenure in WWE. That haircut though.....

I'm burying the lead. Team Hell No is back!! Daniel Bryan was enduring a two on one attack from the Bludgeon Brothers until, all of the sudden, we hear Kane's music! He comes out and he and Daniel take care of business. Paige comes out to announce Team Hell No and the Bludgeon Brothers for the Smackdown tag titles at Extreme Rules. Maybe that will be an extreme rules match. It'd make sense to at least have one match as such. Of course, they did get to the point where Night Of Champions was just a regular show and not at all what it was when it began. How hard is it to have all championship matches at Night of Champions? Luckily they replaced that show.

Storyline wise, I'm digging Impact Wrestling. The Pentagon Jr/Sami Callahan mask vs hair match puts me in mind of the match where Kurt Angle lost his hair years ago. Madison Rayne vs Su Yung for the knockouts title should be something of a squash. They're building towards a Su/Allie rematch. I think that's when we finally see the return of Rosemary. Eddie Edwards, now a heel I guess, will eventually have some type of match with Tommy Dreamer. They may have a few of them.

What happens in the coming week in the wrestling world is always anybody's guess. That's why we tune in-to see what happens next. That's the excitement of being a fan, right?
