Jay's Ways - WWE WrestleMania 34 Concerns
Submitted by Justin Watry on 02/21/2018 at 07:50 PM

I have been reading your stuff on 411mania and nodq.com for the longest time now and I have never felt inclined to email in. The general consensus of you not being most popular is harsh at times but also can be well-founded too. But I still read your stuff because I do enjoy your articles and find your perspective interesting most of the time.

That said, your article about your friend Megan and trip to Wrestlemania was the greatest thing you have ever wrote. Forget about the predictions you brag about getting right. This is your crowning piece. Maybe it is because I can relate as going to Wrestlemania is my ultimate dream and it will be happening next year. But I genuinely loved your article.

Thank you for the great stuff.

411mania.com

New columns posted about WrestleMania 34 and Jeff Jarrett being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Two very intriguing topics. Only can be read on 411mania.com! Exclusive content there you won't find anywhere else. From yours truly! Head on over there now for all the fun. Leave a comment and share your thoughts...

Teaser

Admittedly, I tend to jump the gun a bit on making announcements. Not because of my own fault or anything but due to things just falling apart with late drama or other BS. I will not get into all the wrestlers who have agreed to interviews before bailing or websites offering me well paying jobs and then 'firing' me before a single column was posted. Yeah, exciting stories indeed. Well, time to tease another big piece of news! Been very cryptic on Twitter the past week or so. All should be revealed soon. Be sure to follow @JustinWatry now!

Big Brother Celebrity Edition

Welp, Sunday is it. My pick, Shannon Elizabeth, got booted. Too strong of a player and really made a mistake in not being 'cool' the first few days. Came out SUPER big time and never looked back. A shame. She had so much potential to do more in the game. No clue who wins. Maybe Ross? Kinda sucks that two celebrities all but quit...however, is anybody really shocked? That sums up the entire season right there.

COLUMN TIME!

Zach via email: Do you think Kurt Angle will have a match at WM 34?

It seems all the hype for Angle wrestling seems to of died down considering all the attention is on Rousey, Reigns-Lesnar, Cena-Taker, and Styles-Nakumura! Angle may not have a match, and add to the fact he's pretty beat up these days.

I heard he could possibly take on Seth Rollins, but I seriously doubt that. Rollins isn't exactly the safest worker, and would likely be a risk.

Also, Will John Cena appear at Fast Lane, and will that be the event that sets up his WrestleMania Match?

I'm going with Cena-Taker at WM, but not expecting a long match, and Cena will likely get the win.

I'm hoping we get someone other than Reigns to win the Chamber, but we won't, and he's likely Main Eventing WM. Even though a lot of eyes will be on Rousey's debut at WM, I'm leaning toward her not closing the show!

Someone told me Goldberg may enter the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, and win.

Any Chance Daniel Bryan-Shane McMahon, and The Miz-Angle have a match with the IC Championship on the line?

I'm not sure Angle can handle a IC Title Run at his age, but then again Hogan and Flair did it at his age, wrestling full time, and winning Championships.

What do you think?

Thanks!

Oh gosh, an email! Reminds me of the good ol' days. Thanks for sending. Let me tackle these one by one.

Will Kurt Angle have a match at Wrestle Mania 34? I would have thought so a few months ago. Now, I am not too sure. Kinda seems like he HAS to. However, the man was injured back in 2017 and really has to be smart about everything at his age and health. Gut says yes. Head says he was but plans changed.

A match against Seth Rollins would be perfect. Not just for Seth but also for Angle. The whole "unsafe worker" is garbage. I wrote a column about it a year or so back. Complete garbage. 100% garbage. I spoke to those inside the WWE system and outside on the independents. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, not a single person bashed Rollins. Even knowing that their identity would be protected, they all praised him as one of the best wrestlers in the entire industry and said the two/three injuries that occurred versus Rollins with accidents. Angle would be ALL IN on facing Rollins, and I would be too.

John Cena was advertised for FastLane but was then pulled. My guess is he stays on the red brand until Mania. Nothing over on the blue brand really seems like a fit now. Part of the whole "free agent" thing though - he can jump back and forth anytime he wants. Yeah, if it is Cena vs. The Undertaker, one would assume the younger guy wins to retire the veteran once and for all. A true passing of the torch moment...

...which is what I thought the WM33 main event was! Whatever.

Roman Reigns winning the Elimination Chamber is my prediction. Remember the most obvious outcome is usually also the BEST outcome. Shinsuke Nakamura winning the Royal Rumble was obvious but also the best option. Same with Asuka. Not everything has to be a huge swerve or shocking. Keep it simple stupid.

Ronda Rousey is a main event act regardless of where she ends up on the actual card. I believe WWE is banking on her to sell Mania this year. Her name and face will be all over the media. UFC, sports, entertainment outlets and of course WWE will all be promoting her.

Someone told you Bill Goldberg is winning the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal? Um, okay. Who the heck told you that???

No idea where the Shane McMahon/Daniel Bryan rivalry is headed. Looks like WWE (again) kinda put the entire story line in neutral trying to figure out an endgame. We will see.

The Miz vs. Finn Balor for the IC Title at WM34 could happen, just as the rumored Miz/Braun Strowman match. If that goes down, expect a 30 second stomping and new champion.

Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair wrestling at their ages is a completely different story than Kurt Angle in 2018. Far too many differences to even dive into. Apples and oranges there. I could write another 10,000 words on that entire subject. Hey, maybe another column for another day!
