Wrestle Review: Everything old is new Again
Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 02/02/2018 at 10:53 PM

It was common knowledge that Austin Aries returned to Impact Wrestling weeks ago. Well, this past week, his return episode was shown where he won the World Championship impromptu. It's also common knowledge by now that longtime Impact announcer Jeremy Borash is WWE bound. I got a surprise this past Monday when I read Jonathan Coachman would return to WWE. The pleasant surprise was that night when he took the place of the dreadful Booker T at the announce table.

I finished Chris Jericho's latest book last night. No Is A Four Letter Word is a fantastic and a fast read. All of Chris' books are great. He's quite a writer. If you've not read it yet, I suggest you give it a read.

The Elimination Chamber qualifying matches are underway. That whole pay-per-view is a moot point when you already know it's Roman Reigns getting the shot against Lesnar at WrestleMania. That got me afraid they'd saddle Braun Stroman with the Andre The Giant battle royal. Until, that is, I saw a partially leaked WrestleMania card. One of the matches is Braun Stroman vs Triple H.

Would I like to see Braun with the Universal Championship? Of course. And I think he will one day. Say the match with Triple H happens and he beats the Game(why wouldn't he?), he could have the title shot by SummerSlam.

The more intriguing part of Elimination Chamber is not the men. Much like the Royal Rumble last Sunday, the first women's EC could and probably will steal the show from the men. After all, we already know who's winning one of them.

How about Ronda Rousey debuting at the Rumble? Well, she came out, confronted the women and pointed to the WrestleMania sign. She's getting some pretty real blowback from the women on the roster already, namely the Bella twins and Nia Jax. Honestly, Ronda is the new McMahon priority. They shelled out the big bucks(most likely) and they're going to do what they want. I did find it a little interesting that I got the ESPN alert that she'd signed a "full time" contract with WWE. I'd say that means a match at WrestleMania, maybe a SummerSlam return- aka the Brock Lesnar contract.

I'll definitely be watching As The Wrestling Turns.
