The X-Factor: The road to Houston
Submitted by Victor Mariscal on 10/25/2017 at 03:16 AM

It’s kinda funny sometimes how illogical and inconsistent they can be. Here’s AJ Styles jumping ship to Raw for two days which goes over really well. The night after he loses to Finn Balor in a potential MOTY he joins his fellow Smackdown roster – face and heel – who then proceed to lay out every one in their path. It seemed that the Raw vs. Smackdown conflict at Survivor Series will start out as a friendly rivalry only for it to turn heated without much context.

Forgive me for not seeing it your way Vince. It’s just hard to buy that the New Day, Styles, and Becky would just take part in an nWo style beatdown. There’s also the fact that Roode and Ziggler – who have been at each other’s throats for a month – just decided to work together. The Usos didn’t take part in the attack, but if they had, would they have beaten up their cousin Roman Reigns if he was there? Probably. I wonder if that relation will play into their feud with the Shield.

The die has been cast, but they really could’ve mixed it up just a little. They’re doing this for the sake of doing inter-brand feuding.

Here’s who I think will join Team Raw: Finn Balor, Matt Hardy, Jason Jordan, and The Bar. Sheamus and Cesaro don’t have anything else to do with The Shield in a match so they’ll join because of how over they’ve been. Finn, Matt and Jordan were attacked in the ‘siege’ so they would have an axe to grind. Plus they’re intent on pushing Jordan and Matt is just spinning his wheels without Jeff.

Had The Miz not been penciled in against Corbin he would be on Team Raw. A little disappointed to be honest.

They’re saying Reigns might recover in time for Survivor Series. Who knows?

Here are my 4 remaining picks for Team Smackdown: AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens. I can picture them doing an angle with KO demanding a spot on the team with Shane refusing only to make him earn it the hard way. Owens does a good job of playing the deluded heel. The way he talks about Shane sometimes, he’s actually talking about his sister.

On Raw, Sasha, Bayley, and Mickie were beaten down – with Alicia – so I’d expect them to join the team. That leaves a fifth spot. I would pick Asuka and have her be the sole survivor, or at least one of two. If not, they’re likely to do a countout to prevent her taking a pin for now.

I don’t watch NXT. I just don’t have the time. I see clips here and there, pay attention to the comments, and usually get a bit excited when a call-up is made. They might be wrong to have booked a competitive match between Asuka and Emma. If they had done a glorified squash, then there might’ve been those who objected that Emma was unjustly buried.

Speaking of burials…

Paul Heyman really ran down Jinder Mahal, saying what all of us have been thinking. I look at his match with Brock with a slight amount of fear. I can just picture the comments if Mahal were to actually pin Lesnar. Perhaps he’ll be booked as a legit threat to Lesnar only to lose. How funny would that be if Jinder actually beat him before Reigns does.

Well, that’s all I got for now.

Don’t mess with the X.
