Jay's Ways - Kairi Sane Wins & KO Attacks Vince! Submitted by Justin Watry on 09/13/2017 at 01:06 PM
"I have been reading your stuff on 411mania and nodq.com for the longest time now and I have never felt inclined to email in. The general consensus of you not being most popular is harsh at times but also can be well-founded too. But I still read your stuff because I do enjoy your articles and find your perspective interesting most of the time.

That said, your article about your friend Megan and trip to Wrestlemnaia was the greatest thing you have ever wrote. Forget about the predictions you brag about getting right. This is your crowning piece. Maybe it is because I can relate as going to Wrestlemania is my ultimate dream and it will be happening next year. But I genuinely loved your article.
Thank you for the great stuff."

I previewed the Mae Young Classic on 411mania two days ago. Also, there was a big column on Roman Reigns vs. John Cena last week. Exclusively on 411mania.com folks! Only there, must read stuff.
Mae Young Classic Finals
I outlined all the pluses and minuses of the Mae Young Classic over at 411mania. As for the finals between Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler, it was done very well. Nearly perfect actually. The entire deal was treated with respect. Lilian Garcia was brought in for the special in-ring announcements, there were plenty of legends there, current women wrestlers, participants from the tourney, as well as a few celebrities - Ronda Rousey in particular.
My prediction from the beginning was Sane over Baszler, and that is exactly what happened in the end. No issues with the tournament being predictable. That was the RIGHT finals, with the RIGHT conclusion. I care about a company getting things RIGHT! No swerves, no surprises, nothing. Just get it RIGHT - that is what matters most. WWE crowned Sane the Mae Young Classic winner, made Baszler look like a star...and now has set up two future story lines.
One is that Sane and her flying elbow have been granted an NXT Womens Championship match at the next NXT Takeover live special. The correct move.
Second is that Rousey and WWE planted plenty of hints of a future showdown, potentially including Shayna and others. Truth be told, I do NOT believe it is coming anytime soon. Down the road, yes.
All in all, the tourney was a tad rushed with the binge watching option but got to the payoff: Sane as a star and launched to the top of the NXT women's division. Mission accomplished.
Let's ignore the fact that The New Day are WWE Tag Team Champions again on Smackdown LIVE. I want to stay positive today.
The big hyped up episode for the blue brand was based on Vince FREAKIN' McMahon showing up to confront Kevin Owens. Clearly just a tool to continue the Shane McMahon/suspension deal, but what we got was much, much more.
Not only did the boss announce Shane vs. Owens inside the HIAC (something I wrote about back in mid-August) for next month, but we got a vicious beatdown to end the show.
Owens delivered a brutal headbutt to Vinny Mac. Instantly drawing blood and big hole in his head before he even hit the ground. A wicked image for us to see in 2017. Then things took off from there, before referees and agents (and a returning Stephanie McMahon on the opposite brand of hers!) finally intervened to stop it. A tough scene to watch considering the age of Vince but yet another lesson that he is willing to step up and do what is best for business when the opportunity calls for it.
You want to get someone 'over' as a star?
You want to make a true 'heel' be hated in 2017?
Watch the last five minutes of Smackdown LIVE from Tuesday night. That is how it's done ladies and gentlemen. Leave it to the 190 year old billionaire to come in and get the job done. WWE built up a stacked episode of and gave us a memorable ending. If television ratings and viewership do not produce some kind of jump, I will be shocked. That was awesome and exactly what KO and Shane need to get their feud boiling before meeting inside the cell.
I loved it.
Hopefully, Vince has a clear head and is alright. He can't keep taking those kind of attacks in his life but for one night, wow...
The return of NRW is officially over 1,500 views online. Months ago, when this all began, my target was hitting one thousand. After barely a week, we have already crossed that mark. Pleased with the result obviously but mildly disappointed because many did say they would post/share it and haven't. Those with a much larger reach did not hold up their end of the bargain unfortunately. Kinda sucks they backed out but still, positive thoughts baby! I hit the 1,000 view target I set out for myself, and that is what is most important. The match is posted below. Well worth the 15 minutes!
I went to Orlando, Florida for my first ever WrestleMania earlier in the year. I participated in the return of NRW a few weeks ago. Next up for my epic 2017:
