Jay's Ways - NFL, BB19, & WWE Network Era Submitted by Justin Watry on 09/09/2017 at 11:29 PM
"I have been reading your stuff on 411mania and nodq.com for the longest time now and I have never felt inclined to email in. The general consensus of you not being most popular is harsh at times but also can be well-founded too. But I still read your stuff because I do enjoy your articles and find your perspective interesting most of the time.

That said, your article about your friend Megan and trip to Wrestlemnaia was the greatest thing you have ever wrote. Forget about the predictions you brag about getting right. This is your crowning piece. Maybe it is because I can relate as going to Wrestlemania is my ultimate dream and it will be happening next year. But I genuinely loved your article.
Thank you for the great stuff."

I wrote about all things John Cena and Roman Reigns a few days ago. What did I think of their now infamous Raw shoot promo? Why is their long awaited match taking place at No Mercy? Is it smart to do it now or at WWE WrestleMania 34? Who wins? Like I said, everything about Cena/Reigns can be found in my new 411mania.com column. Go read it!
Mae Young Classic
My plan is to write a Mae Young Classic review (so far) and then preview the finals for 411mania. I want that posted either Sunday or Monday night, obviously before the Tuesday live special. In regards to me predicting the entire tournament spoiler free, I did pretty amazing. Only missed out on a couple of notables. Completely guessed correctly the final four participants and was rewarded big time. Very successful preview on my part. As for the Mae Young Classic ending, I love the red carpet idea. Bring in sports stars, actresses, past wrestlers, etc. Should be a fun time. Unfortunately, I will be seeing "IT" in theaters while it airs, so my viewing will be delayed a few hours. Don't worry - I am sure to be spoiler free as usual.
BB19 Ending Soon
A Big Brother Celebrity Edition in the United States coming this winter...oh boy. I wonder if I am eligible to be selected for the cast. Ha!
As for this summer's show wrapping up, wow! It never ceases to amaze me what clowns they will let into the game. My pre-season pick is still alive (Alex) and looks to have a great shot at winning. My other selection (Raven) is officially out. Honestly, she never had much of a chance anyways. No real loss.
Without sounding too cliche, the house really needs to wake up and boot Paul. Seriously, he has not even been nominated, much less been in danger the whole summer. Absolutely mind boggling that the others have let him slide for so long. Now it is down to final five, and he has been gift wrapped the $500,000 grand prize. The other MUST realize what is going on. They can't be that foolish. Paul has to go next...or he is winning. Sigh.
Okay, if you don't want to read my NFL 2017-2018 predictions or have no interest, skip the next paragraph now!
Stunning result on Thursday night with the Chiefs beating the Patriots. I think that will set the tone for a very unpredictable season...with a very predictable conclusion. My AFC Championship game will see the Patriots get their revenge and topple the Chiefs. The NFC Championship game will showcase the Falcons over the Seahawks (or home state Packers again!), which will give us a rematch from February 2017's Super Bowl. Yep, Patriots over Falcons for the second year in a row - next February in the new fancy Minnesota stadium. That is my prediction.

Another week, another stacked lineup. With the football games returning and new shows coming back for the Fall line-up, it is no wonder WWE has been loading up RAW and Smackdown LIVE. Heck, even NXT has been featuring some good stuff as of late. Just this past week...
RAW advertised The Miz vs. Jeff Hardy for the IC Title and Braun Strowman vs. Big Show in a steel cage match. Likely to try and draw interest on a holiday but still.
Smackdown LIVE had Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Randy Orton as the main event, as well as Natalya vs. Carmella. Next week looks even more stacked with three title matches in Las Vegas, and Vince McMahon is returning to the blue brand! I can't even remember the last time he bothered to show up on Smackdown. Considering that loaded hype and Raw going against the returning Monday Night Football, who knows which show will draw higher viewership? Will be interesting to see.
NXT had Kassius Ohno vs. Hideo Itami in a NO DQ match. Plus, there was Asuka saying farewell. Two high profile things.
Bottom line: WWE is in a whole new era. I don't like the "Reality Era" term. Doesn't make much sense to me. Honestly, the "WWE Network Era" makes more sense in my mind. The meaning behind it is quite simple. As long their streaming service is profitable and thriving (which it is), there are no rules. Literally none.
Jinder Mahal as WWE Champion? Sure.
Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Bobby Roode all on the main roster? Sure.
WWE teaming up with UK promotions and letting their stars wrestle elsewhere? Sure.
Brock Lesnar main eventing Summerslam against Randy Orton a month after being in a big UFC fight? Sure.
Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg teasing an appearance on WWE programming? Sure.
Giving away mega-matches on free TV and on multiple 'lesser' pay-per-view events? Sure.
There are no rules folks.
That is the WWE Network Era.
The return of NRW is officially over 1,500 views online. Months ago, when this all began, my target was hitting one thousand. After barely a week, we have already crossed that mark. Pleased with the result obviously but mildly disappointed because many did say they would post/share it and haven't. Those with a much larger reach did not hold up their end of the bargain unfortunately. Kinda sucks they backed out but still, positive thoughts baby! I hit the 1,000 view target I set out for myself, and that is what is most important. The match is posted below. Well worth the 15 minutes!
I went to Orlando, Florida for my first ever WrestleMania earlier in the year. I participated in the return of NRW a few weeks ago. Next up for my epic 2017:
