Jay's Ways - Cena/Nakamura, Money, & MORE! Submitted by Justin Watry on 08/01/2017 at 08:32 PM
"I have been reading your stuff on 411mania and nodq.com for the longest time now and I have never felt inclined to email in. The general consensus of you not being most popular is harsh at times but also can be well-founded too. But I still read your stuff because I do enjoy your articles and find your perspective interesting most of the time.

That said, your article about your friend Megan and trip to Wrestlemnaia was the greatest thing you have ever wrote. Forget about the predictions you brag about getting right. This is your crowning piece. Maybe it is because I can relate as going to Wrestlemania is my ultimate dream and it will be happening next year. But I genuinely loved your article.
Thank you for the great stuff."

WWE RAW Numbers
Nice to see the trend continue of increased viewership numbers for WWE. Raw and Smackdown LIVE have been delivering some high quality, big star matches as of late. On free television. You best believe the company better see results from giving away so much. I am very interested to see how the ratings look for Shinsuke Nakamura vs. John Cena on Tuesday night. Only one week of build but definitely a pay-per-view worthy headliner.
Okay, I am writing this before Smackdown LIVE. I will be watching on Wednesday afternoon as usual. The huge debate for the past week has been: Jinder Mahal vs. John Cena at Summerslam for the WWE Title, Jinder Mahal vs. Shinsuke Nakamura at Summerslam for the WWE Title, or a triple threat? I know the rumor for months has been Mahal/Cena come August, but if you have been reading my columns, you would know that I have been skeptical of that for a few reasons. I am not saying it will NOT happen - just that I have been hesitant to trust the rumor.
Now that the time has almost arrived, it would not shock me in the least to see Nakamura win. It would follow a "surprise" challenger in the same way nobody thought AJ Styles would become number one contender the night after WrestleMania 32 or recently how Samoa Joe ended up facing Brock Lesnar at Great Balls Of Fire. Both came off as upset wins but made sense in hindsight. AJ Styles will need an opponent at Summerslam, right? I can't imagine we get yet another Kevin Owens rematch. That would be where John Cena fits in. They had their battle last August and have teased another showdown. One yeat later - how great would it be if AJ beats him one more time? Then Cena can head off to Raw and start a few new feuds there.
Or start filming his new movie.
Either way, I do not picture Cena winning on Tuesday, winning the WWE Championship at Summerslam and winning some more for the blue brand. Feels more like the opposite, as if he is 'losing on the way out.' Straight to RAW the Monday after Summerslam.
Nakamura vs. Mahal (if it happens), that is a whole different discussion for a completely different day...
Another profitable quarter for WWE. Another quarter of a record breaking revenue number with waaaayyyyy too much spending to offset making money. They made money indeed but not as much as they should have. Hence the WWE Network cutbacks and delays of The Edge & Christian Show returning and that mysterious R-Truth game show. Honestly, those can wait, and if they are costing a pretty penny, is it REALLY worth it? The company has apparently lowered expectations for their next quarterly conference call coming in three months. That worries me a bit. I would have thought that Joe/Lesnar would have bumped business, just as Summerslam surely will. if the company is being cautious about the current time period, there must be something else brewing. Time will tell.
Until then, WWE Network keeps up its' strong numbers, despite the ridiculous churn rate in subscribers, and the company can still proclaim to be profitable.
Who Attacked Breezango?
I broke down the story line for 411mania this week. Who has been attacking Tyler Breeze and Fandango all these months? My prediction is a group NOT from Raw, Smackdown, or a returning/past team. Any guesses? Read my brand spanking new 411mania column right now!
The return of NRW is officially over 1,200 views online. Months ago, when this all began, my target was hitting one thousand. After barely a week, we have already crossed that mark. Pleased with the result obviously but mildly disappointed because many did say they would post/share it and haven't. Those with a much larger reach did not hold up their end of the bargain unfortunately. Kinda sucks they backed out but still, positive thoughts baby! I hit the 1,000 view target I set out for myself, and that is what is most important. The match is posted below. Well worth the 15 minutes!
NRW: The Match
This is it folks. After years of talk and months of planning, the return finally happened. On Saturday, June 17th, a great group of guys and gals gathered for a one time, one night return to the squared circle. There is a nice article detailing the backstory of these events here (https://noahwatry.tv/2017/07/09/the-lessons-of-backyard-wrestling-wwe-superstar-hopes-and-dreams-of-flying/) to set the stage. Please read that and then when ready, enjoy the 15 minute spectacle! Any and all feedback is welcome. We all put a ton of time, effort, and money into making this reunion possible, so it is with pleasure I present to you No Rulez Wrestling...
I went to Orlando, Florida for my first ever WrestleMania earlier in the year. I participated in the return of NRW a few weeks ago. Next up for my epic 2017:
