Wrestle Review: Selective Amnesia Submitted by Andy Sullivan on 07/28/2017 at 09:22 PM
I'm not talking about last Sunday night's God-awful show. Moving on, you know who else has selective memory? WWE. For instance, I know what Khali's story could be. Since he's the insurance policy for Jinder along with the Singh Brothers, remember that Khali's manager in his God-awful run as a wrestler was Runjin Singh. Therefore, how about Khali has come back to assist his brothers in helping Jinder retain until Khali is ready to challenge for the title. Then again, I'm actually afraid they'll make Khali the WWE Champion again. So many landmines they could hit here. They're bound to hit one.
Signs point to a Randy Orton/Great Khali match at SummerSlam. I don't think I need to explain why Khali in the ring again is a horrible idea. I already love the Raw main event for SummerSlam. I think they really knocked it out of the park with the fatal fourway Universal Championship match. The fact that Stroman is now cheered by fans just a short year after him not really eliciting a response, well that speaks volumes. I mean, this guy used to be a Rosebud, for God's sake!
I watched Impact and I wonder at what point Alberto's suspension kicks in. I kept expecting LAX to put him on the shelf so he'll be off TV a few weeks-months. To think, I used to wonder at what point Paige would show up on Impact. I doubt they want that now.
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have seemed to have formed a tenuous team. Rollins has been very eager to be tight with Ambrose again. This whole thing makes me wonder who will turn on the other. Will Seth stab Dean in the back again or, and I think this is the way to go, Dean turns on Seth.
Think of it: Dean has been a fan favorite ever since the Shield split years ago. Lots of people would say this about Roman but that ship has sailed. No way they ever turn Reigns. Turn Dean. Turn Seth later if you want. Maybe Dean turns on Seth at SummerSlam. They get a tag title match and then...BAM, the turn happens.
Last week we saw the cancellation of Talking Smack. This week, just about an hour ago, actually, was word of the cancellation of the Edge & Christian show on WWE Network. I get what they're doing. Get rid of stuff people watch and leave crap that only Vince likes. Yeah, that's sound business.
