Jay's Ways - WWE Smackdown, GLOW, & NRW

"I have been reading your stuff on 411mania and for the longest time now and I have never felt inclined to email in. The general consensus of you not being most popular is harsh at times but also can be well-founded too.8 But I still read your stuff because I do enjoy your articles and find your perspective interesting most of the time.

That said, your article about your friend Megan and trip to Wrestlemnaia was the greatest thing you have ever wrote. Forget about the predictions you brag about getting right. This is your crowning piece. Maybe it is because I can relate as going to Wrestlemania is my ultimate dream and it will be happening next year. But I genuinely loved your article.

Thank you for the great stuff."

WWE Great Balls Of Fire Review

My new 411mania column is my WWE GROF review. Posted late last night. Go check it out now. Exclusively at baby!

NRW Video

Nearly 800 views so far for the return of NRW. Keep liking, commenting, sharing, and spreading the word! Feel free to post the video wherever you want. On Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. Link is below, at the bottom of the page. Well worth the 15 minutes!

Officially have some WiFi/internet service. Before heading to the Wisconsin Dells on Friday afternoon, I want to binge watch GLOW on Netflix. Want to get that out of the way before my mini-vacation weekend. A buddy at work last night told it was really good. He is NOT a wrestling fan, so it was nice to get an unbiased opinion from a person outside of the bubble. Good news, hoping to get through it in the next two days.

WWE Smackdown LIVE Review

- Okay, okay, okay. Kudos to WWE for making the United States Championship important. The opening segment surrounding AJ Styles winning the title from Kevin Owens at Madison Square Garden last Friday was phenomenal. Seriously. The company treated it with respect, gave the title change its' proper due, and the fans reacted accordingly to the face toppling the heel. Simple stuff.

- Big fan of the open challenge gimmick returning. If it does. I guess we don't know for sure because the entire thing was interrupted. Yes, that was all predictable but still - very hot way to start the show!

- Even though we all knew John Cena vs. AJ Styles was NOT actually going to take place, it was a cool moment that WWE may need to explore more. Tease us. Tease us. Tease us. Have the cool staredowns between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. Give us backstage segments where certain rivals kinda bump into each other. Have Cena make mentions of Roman Reigns for awhile. Some will get a payoff down the road. Others will just rile up fans and get people buzzing. Creates that fun ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN vibe on free television.

- Jinder Mahal over Tye Dillinger. Makes sense to me. One is the WWE Champion. The other has always been cast as the lovable loser who fans cheer. Sucks I know but that's the reality right now.

- The New Day. The Usos. Wonderful.

- Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin was the same as Cena/Styles. It was not going to happen on FREE TV so close to Battleground. Just a tease. I actually enjoyed this because Corbin jumped Nakamura before. Now the favor was returned. Made sense. It will be interesting to see who wins when they do finally clash.

- The womens tag team match was fine. Just some solid build leading to Battleground. My guess is Charlotte is the new #1 contender, leading to her facing Naomi at Summerslam. That is worthy of the August spectacle.

- The Power of Love takes out Sami Zayn. Wow! That attack came out of nowhere. Very well done. Love certainly does hurt! I think the Mike and Maria Kanellis pair is officially established on the blue brand. Time to get in the ring.

- The Fashion Files!!!!!!!!!! Eh. The two had two entertaining segments. The rest have been filled with a silent arena scratching their heads and me wondering what the heck is going on. This was another miss; I blame Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder for showing up. The main complaint about Tyler Breeze and Fandango is the tag team still loses. Still are treated as joke. Still playing the comedy role. The laughs only go so far in WWE and when their stuff is NOT actually funny (in my opinion), that just makes it worse.

- John Cena and AJ Styles over Rusev and Kevin Owens. Basic tag match to main event. Cena back in the ring, Styles as 'top' champion of Smackdown (Jinder still just kinda hanging the middle of the card around as WWE Champion), and the heels get some comeuppance for their sneak attack earlier. Nice use of everybody.
