Jay's Ways - Aries, Dixie, Angle, & NRW! Submitted by Justin Watry on 07/10/2017 at 07:14 PM
"I have been reading your stuff on 411mania and nodq.com for the longest time now and I have never felt inclined to email in. The general consensus of you not being most popular is harsh at times but also can be well-founded too.8 But I still read your stuff because I do enjoy your articles and find your perspective interesting most of the time.
That said, your article about your friend Megan and trip to Wrestlemnaia was the greatest thing you have ever wrote. Forget about the predictions you brag about getting right. This is your crowning piece. Maybe it is because I can relate as going to Wrestlemania is my ultimate dream and it will be happening next year. But I genuinely loved your article.
Thank you for the great stuff."

My new 411mania column will be all about the big event from Sunday night. My full match reviews and thoughts will be in there. Plenty went down in the world of WWE, so it is worth your while to check out my new column. Only on 411mania! Should be posted in a day or two.
What is happening here? Somebody tell me with a straight face he is innocent of ALL these stories that come out, and every time he has to back out of an appearance, it is with respect or just cause. It seems every other weekend the guy is either a no show or in the news for something very negative. Forget the pointless WWE bashing. That is irrelevant. There is something going on with the former Alberto Del Rio, and while nobody can say one way or another, I think we all have our own gut feelings. Hope I am wrong.
I am writing this before Raw tonight but after WWE Great Balls of Fire. It has been announced that Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar will share the ring tonight. Brings me good memories. From WrestleMania AND Summerslam. people forget the two had the main event at WM19 but also had another battle in August of 2003 at the biggest party of the summer. My guess is he names his next opponent, but it is still noteworthy when these guys share the same ring. Lots of history.
Again, my full GBOF review can be found on 411.
Speaking of Angle...
The WWE Network trailer has me pumped to watch this new Kurt Angle documentary. I am curious to hear from Vince McMahon, and even...
...her. Yep, HER! While it seemed shocking on the surface, it really isn't. There is no more TNA. Impact Wrestling is all but finished. She is no longer involved with anything and outside of a few Twitter comments, her profile has been kept extremely quiet in 2017. As it should have been after the disastrous 2016.
No, Dixie Carter will not go to WWE in an owner's role or an executive's role or ANYTHING with real power. However, she can be called in to give an interview on Kurt Angle. Or hey, perhaps she was the one texting him as of late on Raw? I don't know. Sure beats another Stephanie McMahon story line. Or maybe not.
AJ Styles: New United States Champion
Another surprising but not shocking move from the weekend. He won the US Title from Kevin Owens at Madison Square Garden on Friday night. First of all, it was a Raw show, so the fact they were added a few weeks ago should have tipped us off to something. Secondly, there are UNCONFIRMED reports that KO is banged up right now even though he keeps on wrestling. Thirdly, I felt the title change was due to happen when they first battled. Instead, we got the silly count out finish. It seemed out of place then and still does. WWE wanted that belt on AJ for awhile now. May as well make a splash at MSG to speak live event business.
Last in our 'not really shocking' headlines, Austin Aries has left WWE. One report says he asked for his release. Another story suggests it was him being fired but pretty much amicable in them wanting to part ways. Either way, this all went downhill at Mania in Orlando. I said it then and will again now. When he lost, the air was let out of the building. Yeah, Neville is crushing it as a heel, but Aries was either going to win there or he wasn't going to at all. Rematch after rematch after rematch didn't matter. His moment was Mania. It didn't happen, and that was the end of the road.
WWE had a chance to make him more of a player on Raw after his "time off" concluded, but it appears that was never in the cards. Aries is 100% deserving of more than a filler spot on 205 Live. I think everybody can agree on that. At the same time, he has now left WWE, Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and even teased retiring multiple times - all linked to his attitude problems. I don't know. At some point, you have to look in the mirror. Kinda sucks this is right when Thea (his girlfriend) got signed and has a role on NXT. Hope that doesn't mess anything up.
Aries will be fine. He, no doubt, lands on his feet, keeps wrestling, keeps making money and keeps being the greatest man that ever lived. It just sucks this WWE run ended like all of his others - in disappointment.
Okay, now time to flip the mood and get jacked!
