WWE Hall of Famer Robert Gibson of The Rock N’ Roll Express confirmed on Facebook that wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. passed away at the age of 76. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reported that Crockett was said to be in grave condition over the weekend due to liver and kidney failure.
Crockett Jr. ran Jim Crockett Promotions and was NWA President during the 1980's until selling JCP to Ted Turner in 1988. The promotion, which had been billed as the NWA due to Crockett owning six NWA territories, was renamed as WCW in 1990.
