The current status of AEW introducing a secondary title
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 02/12/2020 at 08:34 AM

In an interview with Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Cody Rhodes talked about the possibility of AEW introducing a secondary title:

"Again, you got to talk to Tony [Khan]. Itís an idea thatís obviously on the table Ė but again, what do you do first? Iím just kind of throwing this out there for fans to put in their minds. What do you do first? Do you to a Womenís Tag Title first? Or do you do a title thatís not unlike the Television Title? These are real questions."

"I think we have an idea thatís different than anything thatís been done, and I would just hope that everybody remains patient and theyíre kind of yearning, theyíre lust for that type of belt, championship, I think will be satiated in 2020."

"Again, Iím not saying thereís a mid-card title, because if I was to say thereís a mid-card title coming to AEW, Nick Jackson would superkick my skull clean off my head because weíre moving slow and itís something that as EVPs we all have to agree on, but there is a really great idea, it would make all the sense in the world."
