Update on the planned women's main event for Wrestlemania
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 01/11/2019 at 09:46 AM

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com is reporting that, as of right now, Vince McMahon accepted a creative pitch to have Ronda Rousey face both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania 35. Once Vince decided to go with the match, WWE scrapped the planned Ronda vs. Charlotte rematch for the Royal Rumble and put Sasha Banks in Charlotte’s spot instead.

Meltzer also noted that with two more PPV events (Elimination Chamber and Fast Lane) prior to Wrestlemania, WWE could change plans and a Ronda vs. Charlotte singles match could still take place.

Regarding Becky vs. Asuka at the Royal Rumble, Meltzer stated that "there is still talk of Lynch being in the Rumble after that match happens as a surprise entrant, and winning the thing."

Speaking of Becky, she was recently awarded Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s “Women of the Year” award.
