Original plans for World Cup; Hogan/WWE update
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 11/01/2018 at 10:51 AM

- Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com is reporting that John Cena vs. Rey Mysterio was originally scheduled for the WWE World Cup tournament with the belief that Mysterio was going over Cena. WWE was also reportedly going to mix up the brands for the tournament matches but decided to do brand-specific matches after Cena pulled out.

- PWInsider.com is reporting that Hulk Hogan has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for WWE Crown Jewel. Hogan, who traveled to the country with Jimmy Hart, is expected to be the "guest host" for the event. According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, WWE evidently wanted to bring back Hogan in a low-key way and his name being advertised on the WWE.com website was actually a snafu.
