Jordan injury update; WWE match gets five star rating Submitted by Aaron Rift on 02/01/2018 at 10:09 AM
- According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, Jason Jordan is actually suffering from a neck injury and not a back injury as previously reported. Meltzer notes that Jordan is "having issues with his grip and that is usually very serious." Jordan was not on RAW and according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Jordan won't be booked to do any matches or physical angles until further notice.
Jordan was originally planned to be in the men's Elimination Chamber but the injury could prevent him from being part of the match.
- The Andrade "Cien" Almas vs. Johnny Gargano match from NXT Takeover: Philadelphia received a five-star rating by Dave Meltzer in his Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This is the first time Meltzer has given a WWE match a five-star rating since the John Cena vs. CM Punk match from the 2011 Money in the Bank PPV.
The highest rating Meltzer gave for the 2018 Royal Rumble PPV was four and 1/4 stars for the men's Rumble match. By comparison, the 1992 Rumble match (generally considered to be WWE's best Rumble match) received a three and 3/4 star rating.
