Big update on the Matt Hardy 'Broken' gimmick
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 11/29/2017 at 03:32 PM

According to YouTube account Heel By Nature, Impact Wrestling does not have any plans as of last week to continue the legal battle with Matt Hardy over the 'Broken' gimmick. Hardy could have full legal ownership of the gimmick by mid-January unless Anthem decides to submit further paperwork.

Impact Wrestling's Ed Nordholm issued the following statement to SI.com regarding the Matt Hardy 'Broken' gimmick:

“We have seen the character development and will be interested to see where they take the concept. Our new talent agreements all incorporate language that allow talent to continue to use their IMPACT persona after they leave the company. We are working with our legal team to amend our existing agreements to extend this to all of our current and former talent.”
