More on JBL leaving; WWE draws small crowd
Submitted by Aaron Rift on 09/04/2017 at 10:33 AM

Regarding JBL leaving Smackdown Live as an announcer, ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that JBL made the decision to leave several months ago. JBL reportedly told WWE back in May that he wasn't going to stay once his contract expired. While it's not exactly clear why he left, JBL informed the company of his decision shortly after Mauro Ranallo's departure from Smackdown Live in April.

With that being said, an article on SI.com is contradicting the story above by stating that JBL gave notice almost a year ago, long before the Ranallo allegations started. The SI.com article indicated that being burned out from traveling was a factor in JBL leaving.

- It appears that WWE drew a very small crowd at this weekend's live event in Cedar Falls, Iowa. According to one person, the crowd size was estimated between 1,000-2,000 people in a 7,000 seat building.
