Heyman reportedly pushing for Joe to win Universal Title Submitted by Aaron Rift on 08/02/2017 at 04:14 PM
According to Justin Barrasso of SI.com, Brock Lesnar's return to the UFC is being described as "imminent" despite Lesnar being under WWE contract until the spring of 2018. Barrasso is reporting that Paul Heyman is pushing behind-the-scenes for Samoa Joe to win the Universal Title at Summerslam which would allow Lesnar time to begin training for a UFC comeback. Here is an excerpt from the SI.com article:
SI.com has learned that Lesnarís return to the UFC is imminent, and he will fight Jones as well as fulfill his WWE obligations at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 34. This all affects the upcoming SummerSlam, as the likelihood that Lesnar keeps the WWE Universal championship, or takes any punishing moves, is all but dimmed, which is another reason he will be hidden in this Fatal 4-Way with Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe.
There is still confusion about Lesnar's suspension and if he has even re-entered the USADA drug testing pool. Lesnar is also still being advertised for the September 24th No Mercy PPV in Los Angeles, CA.
